I spent a month in Louisville, a month in Cincinnati (OH) and another week in Louisville. It's average, I guess. It's located in the part of the country where you can get some really scary severe weather at certain points of the year. And of course there's heat, humidity, and winter snow.

Oh yeah... and Mitch McConnell is in KY.

Plus while KY isn't a likely target per se, it's close enough to some big cities that might be. Maybe the Appalachians? But then again you're scared of cold and snow.

Yeah hide in WV but you have to be far enough west to not feel the impacts of the kabooming in DC, NoVA, Maryland, NYC, etc. Which means you're pretty deep into the mountains in the freezing cold boondocks.

I'd say the Rocky Mountains might be a safer bet, but you don't want to be too close to all the military stuff in and around Colorado Springs, and you also don't want to be right next to Yellowstone volcano in case a nuke triggers a Yellowstone eruption. Maybe somewhere like rural northern Arizona makes sense. Or New Mexico... who even wants New Mexico anyway? Breaking Bad guy ain't walkin' thru that door.
