That time frame jibes with this Time Magazine article from 2014.

Reports emerged Tuesday that Russian President Vladimir Putin said he could take control of Ukraine’s capital city in as little as two weeks, a remark that escalated already pitched tensions between Russia and the West in the lead-up to NATO’s summit in Wales.

No, I bet there aren't any "special ops/black ops" for many reasons but there is undoubtedly intelligence ops. US must have had them in Afghanistan to know which such certainty about the ISIS-K suicide bomber that attacked Kabul.
    Result?...

From CNN's Paul P. Murphy and Josh Pennington
The Zaporozhye regional administration says a new mayor has been installed in the Ukrainian city of Melitopol, which is under Russian military control, after the elected mayor was detained on Friday.
Ivan Fedorov, the elected mayor of Melitopol, was detained by armed men on Friday and accused of terrorism offenses by the prosecutor's office for the separatist Russia-backed Luhansk region.

The newly installed mayor is Galina Danilchenko, a former member of the city council, according to a statement on the Zaporozhye regional administration website.

Danilchenko, who was not elected by the people, was introduced as the acting mayor on local TV, the statement said.

In her televised statement, which was posted by the administration on Telegram, Danilchenko said her "main task is to take all necessary steps to get the city back to normal."

She claimed there were people still in Melitopol who would try to destabilize "the situation and provoke a reaction of bad behavior."

This is exactly why this is going long...

That's what happened when Z armed his people with rifles & Molotov tails. Z threatened it in broad daylight. Everybody heard it. That gave Putin permission to consider all Ukr citizens fair game. If Russians hesitate and are then KIA'ed by one of these armed citizens then State run media CNN guffaws, carries on and lodges it on that cable outlet, skinnin' & grinnin' to beat the Russian Ballet. I in turn see it, I get mad, I come in here, I check assholes, you're readily available, I watch as hater cleans your in' clock, I thoroughly roust El and apply a Dutch rub to peeg, then proceed to put myself down for a nap as my work day is done, dad.

I'm a rootin' for that there Putin!!!

Herold of the University of New Hampshire estimated at least 1,010-1,297 Afghan civilians were directly killed by U.S./NATO actions.

This was stated on the air of the national telethon by the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Alexei Danilov. He cited the corresponding statement of the Secretary General of the North Atlantic Alliance Jens Stoltenberg.

"Today, the head of NATO, Mr. Stoltenberg, made a statement: if at least one s , even one bullet hits the convoy that they are delivering today, they will consider it a violation of the fifth article that exists today in NATO countries," Danilov said.

Everybody has had their say. Let's see who blinks first.
Ryabkov said Russia “warned the U.S. that pumping weapons from a number of countries it orchestrates isn’t just a dangerous move, it’s an action that makes those convoys legitimate targets.”

He also denounced the U.S. sanctions against Moscow as an “unprecedented attempt to deal a serious blow to various sectors of the Russian economy,” but noted that Moscow will act in a measured way to avoid hurting itself.

Ryabkov said that Russia has no intention to expel Western media and businesses amid the soaring tensions with the West, adding that ”we aren’t going to escalate the situation.”
