Though its always satisfying to see the military aggressor struggle vs a weaker opponent, the reality is it only makes russia more dangerous to do something desperate, they have their own MIC too, and with the conflict on their border they are more pressured to react. china potentially getting involved doesnt help either. this is looking like its going to get a lot worse from here- was it really worth it to reach this point over ukraine getting a nato base or adopting the euro? they would have been one of the poorest countries in either coalition, would that really have helped their population's well being?

From everything I have read so far on Ukraine in NATO is they just were not stable enough, nor did they follow the general principles required of approaching their obvious problems with corruption and dealing with their own people in a lawful manner.
Now having said the above Turkey is probably a NATO member that has gone totalitarian with their leader. At the time there was debate about letting them in because Edrogan had just taken over and was in the process of putting the military in its place. But Edrogan has become a very harsh leader and Turkey is a very complex problem for NATO to dump. NATO is in no way a society of perfect nations. It has a group of Nations that agree on general principles among the biggest of which is the Soviet Union and Russia. Putin has now made NATO relevant again. There was hope when the Berlin Wall went down that NATO might become an organization that was obsolete. Putin just changed that.
