Let me just enlighten you kids. It's not rocket science,,,,Russia is already moving through Ukraine and becoming so dangerously close to Nato countries that they are scared he will invade them and won't stop with just Ukraine but yet our US representatives tell us the war is going badly for Russia,,,,,lmao. So why is spineless Biden sending more troops to shore up the Nato borders?,,,,riddle me that. And the day China folds to the US like a whipped puppy is the day Nono has an IQ above 50,,,,,
Russia is already "dangerously" close to NATO, Russia borders NATO. NATO has always bordered Russia. You think this army of 200k of Russians conscripts will take whole of Europe? Do you have any clue of how many people live in Europe? Ukraine alone is about one third of Russia.

This is why I don't post on here much,,,posters are uneducated. Do you know Ukraine is the size of Texas?
Poland, Lithuania, Romania,,,,none of them on the Russian border or even close. Do you know how long it takes to get across Texas? Think about trying to do it in military vehicles and tanks. If you start in the Texas panhandle and crush your way down to South Padre will fighting a military conflict,,,,it's gonna take awhile.

China denies US claims that Russia asked for military aid

The US has been spreading disinformation targeting China on the Ukraine issue, with malicious intentions'

A Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson said Monday that claims from US officials that Moscow asked Beijing for military equipment for its campaign in Ukraine were "disinformation."

"The US has been spreading disinformation targeting China on the Ukraine issue, with malicious intentions," said Zhao Lijian.

The New York Times reported on Sunday that Russia asked China for military and economic aid, hours after the White House warned Beijing would face severe "consequences" if it helps Moscow evade sanctions.

Moscow also asked Beijing for economic assistance against the crippling sanctions imposed against it by most of the Western world, according to the report, citing anonymous officials.

US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan warned Beijing earlier on Sunday that it would "absolutely" face consequences if it helped Moscow evade sanctions over the invasion of Ukraine.

Sullivan is meeting with China's top diplomat Yang Jiechi in Rome on Monday.

Russia accuses West of seeking ‘artificial default’ over Ukraine
Russia is ready to pay its debts ‘in roubles’ () as a large part of its foreign currency reserves are frozen over Ukraine

Russia’s finance ministry has accused foreign countries of wanting to force Russia into an “artificial default” through unprecedented sanctions over its war in Ukraine and said it would meet its debt obligations.

“The freezing of foreign currency accounts of the Bank of Russia and of the Russian government can be regarded as the desire of a number of foreign countries to organise an artificial default that has no real economic grounds,” Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said in a statement on Monday.

Ratings agency Fitch last week downgraded Russia’s sovereign debt rating further into junk territory, warning that the decision reflects the view that a default is “imminent”.

The government is due to pay $117m on two of its dollar-denominated bonds on Wednesday.

“Claims that Russia cannot fulfil its sovereign debt obligations are untrue,” Siluanov said. “We have the necessary funds to service our obligations.”

The finance ministry said it had approved a temporary procedure to allow banks to make payments in foreign currency, but said the possibility of those payments going through would depend on sanctions.

Several Russian banks have been banned from the SWIFT international payments network, hampering efforts to move money outside Russia.

    Payments in ‘roubles’
If payments are not possible, Siluanov said, Russia “is ready to make payments in roubles” according to the exchange rate of Russia’s central bank on the day of the payment, including its Eurobond issued since 2018.

Western sanctions on Moscow over its war in Ukraine delivered an unprecedented blow to Russia’s banking and financial system, with a large part of its foreign currency reserves frozen.

Russia has boosted efforts to prevent money from leaving its borders and to support the rouble, which has already seen a precipitous drop in value against the US dollar.

There are foreseeable supply shocks besides energy, food being maybe foremost. Cooking oil and beet sugar are two important staples besides wheat.

Ukraine banned the export of wheat and other vital food commodities on Wednesday, triggering global fears for the food security of millions of people this year. Now the Pentagon has been urged to study how the disrupted food supply driven by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine will impact security around the world….

Ukraine is responsible for about 6 percent of global calorie exports, said Joseph Glauber, a senior research fellow at the International Food Policy Research Ins ute, or IFPRI. But in Egypt, for example, half of its imported calories come from Ukraine and Russia combined. In Lebanon, Russia and Ukraine account for 34 percent of its imported calories.

“Because Ukraine is one of the world’s largest wheat suppliers, especially for the developing world, Russia’s actions could cause a e in food prices and lead to even more desperate hunger in places like Libya, Yemen, and Lebanon,” Linda Thomas-Greenfield, the U.S. representative to the United Nations, said last month. “The tidal waves of suffering this war will cause are unthinkable.”

    Neon for computer chips:

Russia’s invasion of Ukraine is putting even more pressure on an already-strained global computer chip supply.

The military incursion has forced Ukraine’s two leading neon suppliers to suspend operations, a major disruption with global economic consequences. Neon is critically important to semiconductor chip manufacturing, and nearly half of the world’s semiconductor-grade neon originates from these two suppliers, Ingas and Cryoin, Reuters notes.

Reuters estimates the two firms produce between 45% and 54% of the specific type of neon needed to manufacture semiconductor chips.

    Yikes, if accurate

Russia accounts for 80% of the market for sapphire substrates—thin plates made of artificial stone, which are used in opto- and microelectronics to build up layers of various materials such as silicon. They are used in every processor in the world, he writes—"AMD and Intel are no exception.” Russia holds an even stronger position in special chip-etching chemistry using ultra-clean components, accounting for almost 100% of the world's supply of certain rare earth elements used for these purposes.
