Oh well… not this year. Morant is now limping. It’s probably over. I can’t believe the Anderson ejection…. Seemed excessive. As slow as he is he was fouled. But regardless, without Morant this is over.
Ja looks like he's hurt the way he's grabbing his knee. The Warriors luck out again. Hopefully the Suns can challenge them the next series.

Coach now giving Adams minutes, too little too late.
Another snooze fest series for the Warriors. They have had so many during the Curry-Klay-Draymond era where an opposing team's star player gets an injury whether it's intentional or unintentional that leads to them winning the series.
I have said since last year, they will go as far as he takes them bc you can count on Morant to do what he does, and the other guys more or less being consistent at what they do, but Jaren is unreliable. He’s got a lot of potential but he needs to be better for them to go further.
What a sad ending to the season to finish with Morant with a bad knee. The Grizzlies coach also didn’t protect his guys enough. Kerr basically ate his chicken and got the media in their pocket.
If morant is out then Memphis actually has a shot as they play better without him.
I used to not care for the playoffs at all once the Spurs got eliminated but the Grizzlies have won me over since Ja was drafted.
I like the Pelicans too although I hadn’t watched them b4 this season. Different times. I no longer live in SA. I moved to the east coast in 2018. It’s all the same to me, but I do like to wacth young teams rather than the established superstars. Giannis is special though, and I also like Embiid a lot. I can’t limit myself to the Spurs anymore.
Like I said this is growing process for Morant,,,hes only 22 and in the last 3 games of the 2nd round of the NBA playoffs he's scored,,,34, 47, and 34,,,,,imagine when he hits his prime. Hes a bad motor scooter and will be Allen Iverson on beast mode. Get the dude some help around him and watch the les roll in,,,
,,,and I guess the Bucks are better without the Greek freak,,,,
They were like 23-4 without him. How much more help does he need? I agree, hes already great and will just get better, but he could also end up as Derrick Rose.
Chris Paul is due to have some sort of injury tbh.
Seems like most unicorns aren’t. Porzingas came crashing to Earth, too.
That is definitely a fear I have that could come true like you said.
I still remember Jaren's father having a fluky run with the Spurs during their first tile run. He was great throughout the playoffs and then once the Spurs gave him a big contract he was garbage.
It seems like he’s well on his way to Roseville. Little guys who play that far above the rim don’t do so for very long. Rose eventually adapted his game after missing a lot of time, but Isiah Thomas never really recovered..
I also suspect the moment the referees stop blowing the favorable whistle CP3’s been getting, the Suns will struggle.
If the Warriors face the Suns then you can bet CP3 is pulling his hammy again. Warriors don’t beat teams at full strength. They only win championships on the back of other team’s injuries and try to invalidate any championship won when they Warriors were “hurt.”
We only have one MVP on our team. And a DPOY. And a COY. How can we be expected to beat the raptors with odds so stacked against us![]()
Yup. It's a shocking difference in the with and without record. The most shocking stat though, is the point differential. With is like a +3. Without is like a +14. Wow stuff.
He was always a borderline NBA player. But he had huge games for us during the 99 le run, especially vs LA as a vet minimum player.
They gave him like 3yrs 5mm, which even for those times was hardly “a huge contract” and he was already 30 at the time.
I’ve said it before countless times.
An above the rim point guard like Ja always have immediate appeal as a top player in the NBA in their early career and very quickly after injuries happen (they always do to players like this) they fade off to 2nd or 3rd tier company, sometimes even role player territory if it hits them bad like it did to Rose.
This is Ja’s destiny.
Since he’s often the center of the offense, I don’t see anyone on the current Memphis roster developing as a Robin or even looking like they have the talent to be one (JJJ’s basketball IQ is underwhelming).
This will only go three ways:
1) Ja rots in Memphis with a mediocre supporting cast because he’s loyal a la Lillard path
2) Ja wastes nearly half his peak before he decides he deserves to win and leaves in FA or trade to join another star (by this time, injuries will probably made him half the player he is today)
3) Memphis trades part of their core for an All Star who ends up not fitting well with Ja because PG-centric teams rarely win in this league
So good luck to whoever is on this bandwagon. It’s a predictable ride that you can see a mile away if you’ve been following the NBA for a long time.
I mean he got hurt 50 feet away from the basket and was nowhere near above the rim. It was a dirty play.
The thing I like about Ja is he has a million moves around the rim. He doesn’t just dunk. He lays the ball up with different English. He has a floater, he has a pump fake that goes into a beautiful spin the other way for an easy shot. So yes while he does play above the rim at times, I feel like it’s a bit overblown. He’s getting easy lay up’s half the time. He’s not just playing above the rim in the typical sense.
Also not every player wins championships. That’s ok. Memphis has never won one before. It’s not expected of them. Lillard and players like him didn’t waste their career by playing there. They were the man of their own team, made a ton of money, got all types of awards, and are seen by their peers as amazing talents. A championship would be nice of course, but Reggie or Patrick or George or Allen didn’t waste their peaks.

I’m not saying the injuries will happen from above the rim plays. I’m stating his archetype and what injuries do to players like him. His game is predicated on athleticism (speed / explosiveness, hops) and any loss of that due to injuries whether by dirty plays, long term wear on his joints (likely to happen to guys like him), or freak accidents— his game will fall off. Other player types have less of a drop off.
Also, the injury happened before that when he made an athletic close out on Klay’s 3 pt shot. He bumped his knee. Ja recklessly jumps all over the place even when it’s not on offense or when it’s not needed. This dude will have a short career.
He was limping right after this.
I agree with this statement but just not about him. He has too many moves to be considered a Westbrook or Wall or Rose. He’s quick as but even an 80% speed Ja will be able to get to the rim in todays game. He will also be able to score in the paint with his floater, and his below rim craftiness that reminds me of Maun. Also unlike Westbrook or Rose, he plays much smarter. He picks and chooses his spots. He is also developing a 3 pointer waaaay sooner than the prototypical above rim guard. Ja might get hurt like everyone else and never be the same player like you say but I think that he can easily be the second best player on a le team and stay an all star even as he athleticism wanes
