Guaranteed to make no one happy, but it would be nice to not hear about this for awhile.
Even though it's not legal.

Why not cancel credit card debt too. Both dumb decisions
I was told yesterday if we got rid of the federal tax and went with a 5 percent sales tax on everything in 5 years the USA will be out of debt
Does not matter if it is legal blue is doing it red can not do anything illegal
Like that time you guys tried to overthrow the government?
Like blue team does in Portland all the time
So what?
people still dont understand we rich as and we have never spent any of it on regular people…
we were even richer as before the super rich got most of it in tax breaks, corporate welfare, tax cheating,
all which came from lobbyists and the GOP working for the super rich
now SOME of the loot goes to regular taxpayers and everyone clutches their pearlz!
worse yet- almost everyone here is NOT on the uber rich team - maybe cosmic kunt unless he is exaggerating
so chill the out and let the usa spend a fraction on real people for once
so how much do you owe?
im debt free
and i do not clutch my pearls 24/7 over what OTHER people might get
i dont clutch my pearls
for;
immigrants arriving to make a better life for themselves and our country which badly needs their cheap labor…
women who want to make their own decisions…
children being taught our true white supremacist history…
among other fear- mongering propaganda
Lawmakers, including Nancy Pelosi, have argued that Biden’s executive order, is uncons utional and goes outside the rights of the executive branch.
Congress, not the president, is the only body that can cancel student debt, Pelosi said in July of 2021, arguing that “the president can’t do it.”
“Not everybody realizes that, but the president can only postpone, delay but not forgive” student loans, she added.
The Department of Education came to the same decision, arguing that the executive branch “does not have the statutory authority to cancel, compromise, discharge, or forgive, on a blanket or mass basis, principal balances of student loans, and/or to materially modify the repayment amounts or terms thereof.”
yay! Yippee! Lord lord!
wgaf?
will this make your life complete?
Someone is free to take it to court, I guess.
Democracts wants red team to take to court so they can say red team bad taking money we want to give you
No one ever tells you anything when you are with them. You do all the talking
I'm quite a good listener tbh. I rarely repeat the stupider things I am told.
50 years of state disinvestment in education has raised costs beyond the ability of of borrowers to repay and put two generations of the middle-class on a debt treadmill.
This is a small step in the right direction.
It's called discussing current events, Moron.
That can happen when you major in English.

its not uncommon for the state to subsidize what it believes are "good decisions" that they want to incentivize. ie giving tax benefits to married couples. they think people getting married is a good things (helps financial stability, lowers chances of people being in abject poverty and thus less dependent on state on long run, less likely to commit crime, etc). they see getting a college education as being a general positive and accomplishing those same ends
the big sleeper is also the lack of accrual of interest as long as timely payments are being made
That's the kind of thing Biden should've promised in the first place; not the perceived privilege giveaway.
