How amazing is it not having a 6-1 dwarf on the court getting abused on defense (Forbes and Mills).

Also moving McDermott to the bench has been big for him. He cant get hounded out and abused on defense playing against bench units.

And its also great to not be watching guys who are scared to shoot 3's like DeRozan and White, as good as those guys were.
All true. And don't forget Lonnie's atrocious defense is gone.

Richardson and Doug with 25-4-4 tonight on 9-18 FG, 6-11 from 3

Poeltl with 13-10-3 on 6-9 FG.

I know a team in LA who could use some of that production.
They better not trade for Russ, not after I just ordered a Lakers Russ jersey. Old boy is my favorite and personal GLOAT. He single-handedly made Lakers basketball fun to watch.

I hope we don't have "fans" whining all season every time we win a game. These young players want to play to win and their coach is gonna let them try. Bet on it.

That being said, we do have a talent deficit since we don't have a legitimate super star, but if we can put two rotational teams on the court who will try hard every game, we will win some games by attrition.

Vassell/J-Rich >>> Lonnie (even when they fall back down to earth, they have outdone him as a starter (Vassell)/bench role (J-Rich).

Yeah the sheer entertainment of Russ in LA is gold. It will be sad to see that end. But I'll swap that for those unprotected 1sts from LA.

They played shut down defense during the first three quarters of game 2, too. This season’s Spurs might be known for their defense. Amazing what happens when you have better help defenders on the team.

80 more meaning the Spurs are going to make the play-in again. I like the way you think.

Pop benched Sochan? 10 minutes. Devin just looks like a smooth natural scorer when he is in the zone. Had two games with 22 plus last year had 2 of those games all of last season.

You know all it takes is one or two teams to be unexpectedly bad and the next thing you know they sucking up a lottery team spot when they shouldn't be and all of a sudden that's 4 games where we should go 0 - 4 but we go 2 - 2 or something and bam play-in.

The lakers bad play and the nuggets injuries forced us into the play in last year and they might do it again this year

32 to wins doesn't sound like much but if it gets you the 10 seed you to games away from the playoffs

Was it wrong to have let Murray go? I mean they could’ve used him or he’s not signing anyways

Nah. The Spurs are better for having traded him. He is talented, but he wasn't going to give up the lead-dog mentality, and I'd say last year's DJM would be the third- or fourth-best offensive player on the team right now. Tre has been a good. PG. He hasn't been great, but he's can hold the position down and let the others flourish. Whether Jones shows a higher ceiling, Primo develops the way PATFO apparently expects him to, or some new PG shows up, I'm happy with the trade. I wish they've been able to swing Okongwu in the deal as well, but I can't complain too much about even that, given how Dieng fell into their laps.

Agreed. Keldon, Vassell, maybe others probably wouldn’t have come out of their s if Murray was still here. Murray would have had no issues passing the ball to them, but with his departure it allowed the others to step up and have a sense of urgency to become leaders for the team and likely accelerating their development because they know that in order to be a leader, they would need to step up their game. I don’t think that happens with Murray still here.

Embii and Haren being fat s doesn't help the sixers. Embii only got 40 cuz he's a stat padding foul merchant. I like the tank but I'm glad the Spurs beat those cucks

Pop sent a memo to the team that they were tanking this season, but Keldon & Vassell chose to ignore it. The kids are playing hard as the 76ers found out.
