The amount of hate I got for evidently making a super contrarian call is hilarious. Now healthy, Spurs are going to win some more games and at worst be a lot more compe ive vs getting blown out 6 games in a row.

I dont and never thought they’d win 10 more, but 5-7 seemed doable from when I posted about it and they are already at 3 and that’s with the massive tank against HOU 2x.
They're going to look a lot closer to what they were at the beginning of the year than they did most of the rest.

Now show Collins with the unprovoked facial on Porter on what should have absolutely been a 2+1 for Porter.

Now because of our incompetent front office’s tanking abilities, we’re looking at a freaking

Mamakaravioli is costing us Wemby. We’re gonna mess around and win a couple rings instead of getting our guy.

Exactly. I dont know why that was met with such “what an idiot loll this team is awful and so bad and blah blah blah” It was literally the easiest call in history

Lol, man. The Spurs had at best a 14% chance for the top draft spot. That's not changing with this win.

Spurs are in bottom 3 and unless CHA goes winless I think SA stays there. CHA also winning twice while SA won 3 times was great and should be enough. So I dont care much about finishing last - would be fine but doesnt matter. Rather see the guys stay healthy to end the season and end on a higher note.

cha seems to be running away with 4th i guess. If theres no difference in odds where the spurs pick 1-3 then this win is kool

While I agree we should be losing, have a bottom 3 odds doesn’t guarantee anything

Ya, there’s zero difference in odds at the best picks. The only reason it matters within bottom 3 is how far back you can fall (pick 5 for worst team, pick 6 for 2nd and pick 7 for third). But if you arent landing in the top 3 anyways, doesnt matter all that much being pick 5-7 IMO. I mean, it matters, but not so much to get too worked up about IMO

The part that makes me chuckle the most is Spurs even though they were without Vassell and Tre forever and lost like 16 in a row - they still had a better record than HOU

And people had the audacity to try & argue HOU was more talented & better than when SA got healthy? How!

“But but but, HOU just beat SA twice DPG!”

Oh, you mean the games where one had Keldon/Vassell out and the other where Pop sat the other 3 starters ?

When SA was healthy at beginning of season they smacked HOU twice.

At sone point players will play compe ive, it’s their career. Mamu auditioning for a contract, not just with the Spurs, but to any scout watching, Collins’ stock is definitely higher, McD scoring 20pts in 23 mins. And Pop knows how to stroke feed those hunger, showcase even. CHA is wayyy ahead

I don’t remember San Antonio in their heyday losing to a bottom 3 team. Denver has a lot to work on if they’re going to make it past May. No excuse to lose to even a full roster Spurs team tonight.

Would prime Spurs lose to this Spurs team this late in the season without DNP'ing The Big 3?

Bucks swept us in 06-07 season and finished with the 3rd worst record, tbh.

During the '03 le run I remember they lost a game to the Nuggets on the road during the regular season. The nuggets were the worst team in the league that season. The Spurs responded by beating them by 30 the next time they played them.

The top three teams each have a 14% chance for the first pick. The Spurs have that locked in and this win does nothing to change their ability to select first.

Pop could've screwed that game up if he wanted to but you could tell the players were vibing. At a certain point, you gotta let them have some fun or you risk losing morale for the sake of a couple percentage points.

Nah I don’t think Spurs catch CHA. Just don’t get the habit of winning
I read last night that our magic number is 12 to secure our spot....any combination of Hornets wins and Spurs losses.

Tankathon lists the Spurs as having the 5th worst remaining schedule, the Hornets the 15th. Basically, the Spurs face many more teams jockeying for playoffs or positioning.

The Spurs have three games in hand, though.

The sooner we can stack some of these losses, the better.

Don’t count or look at the losses. We both want losses, but if we both lose all of our games, we breeze into the bottom 3. Charlotte needs us to win 6 more games than they do. They have won 5 more games, and that can never be undone. None of those wins can be taken off the board. The win gap is everything. Charlotte can’t do a damn thing about closing that gap.

Wow didn't realize the odds were exactly the same for picks 1-4 among the bottom 3 teams.
