Who do you think is most deserving?
I'm in the minority here, but I vote for Alex Smith. He's got video game stats: 185-of-280 with 2,624 yards, 28 TDs and 4 INTs. He also has 120 carries for 563 yards and 10 TDs. That's 4.6 YPC, a 66% completion percentage, and almost 15 yds a pass.
This year though, I think all 5 candidates are deserving. I don't like the two sets of teammates thing, but there isn't anything to prevent that and all are terrific players.

I'm going to go with Jason White. He was better than he was last year. Peterson was awefully impressive, especially as a freshman- but I think White is the man.

Alex Smith should win. Cletus err... Jason White is a product of the system like BJ Symons. He is a good QB, but not a Heisman caliber QB this year. Peterson is overhyped because he is a freshman and JJ Arrington had better stats, even Cedric Benosn is better.
You can make an argument for Matt Leinart, I wont be mad if he wins. Reggie Bush is the most ridiculous piece or overhyped crap I have ever seen. He is a running back and he didn't even get 1000 yards rushing! Sure the guy can return punts and catch some balls, but Braylon Edwards is better than him and Edwards didn't even get nominated.
Alex Smith has quietly rushed for over 500 yards and only thrown 4 INTS! He is the most efficent passer in college football.
Alex Smith is a beast, he deserves it.

White, no doubt about it.
All three teams are undefeated. I think without Reggie Bush USC still runs the table. Without Leinart they at least lose the Cal game. Without Jason White OU loses to Okie State and A&M. Without Peterson they lose to Texas also. But if Utah didn't have Alex Smith, they lose the BCS love, Urban Meyer doesn't go to Florida, the Utes go to the Liberty Bowl, and nobody outside the state gives a about the team.
Forget the BCS love, Utah wouldn't have won 6 games without Alex.
