48 hours after the several day NBA accounting pause. We can't actually sign anyone tonight, we can just reach agreements. The offer sheet can't be signed until the pause period is over. That's how we lost Marcus Morris a few years back.
I think we may have a major value differential in play here.

Draymond expected back with GSW for about 4/100
Saric also expected to land with Warriors
Austin Reaves was the third-best player on the Lakers. He probably would be the second-best player on the Spurs.
That realization calibrates my perception of what the Spurs really have.
also, what dumbass agents/execs are already out there leaking these handshake agreements? its basically an admission of tampering
I say pay up for Reaves. I like Brook Lopez but he's probably not happening.
If the Lakers make San Antonio wait and still match, so what? Sign Collins to an extension of 3/45 with a 15% signing bonus to burn off some cap, re-sign Tre front loaded, maybe Grant Williams will still be hanging around as a restricted free agent
Maybe trade for Micic and pay him front loaded
And if you get Reaves ... A legit playoff performer is worth the money
Lansdale offered more money elsewhere?
Is it only 100m or 52m? Can't we offer say 75m? So it still forces Lakers match. And if they didn't. It's not as overpriced
I like Reaves but he’s far from a proven commodity. A decent season and solid playoff run isn’t enough. The money being tossed around his name looks exactly like the kind of costly mistake the FO is trying to avoid.

New NBA salary cap numbers for 2023-2024, per sources: Salary Cap: $136M; Tax Level: $165.2M; First Apron: $172.3M; Second Apron: $182.7M; Non-taxpayer mid-level exception: 12.4M. The salary cap and tax levels will rise 10 percent.
Well hope these agents leak these agreements because these arbitrary times the NBA comes up with just to get people watching ESPN are stupid.
Of all years for the Spurs to tie up cap money on an offer that gets matched at the eleventh hour, this ain't the one, IMO.
Will be interesting to see if the Spurs start a Holy War with the Lakers.
Done deal.
Long term strategic planning, you do NOT want the Lakers getting away with paying a legit playoff starter on a mid level type deal the next four years. Don't give them the opportunity to have cap space with a LeBron retirement or who knows what. Can't afford a GSW-Durant style cap room situation.
Reaves for 100 million is bad GMing. Dude averaged 13ppg and really only found playing time after Lonnie got injured. If he improves significantly this season I’ll walk it back but at best he might get slightly better and is nowhere near 100 million. The lakers 52 million offer is reasonable. 60 million is the absolute ceiling I’d go.
*BREAKING *Pop and Wright just went out to dinner
Or maybe they think they can get him with Room Exception anyway?
The Spurs have far far too much to lose.
Patty Mills just got 50mil
