Brook would be a great get for any team.

His defensive metrics last season were off the charts (DFG% at rim, away from the rim etc. all elite).

Wonder what happens with Sengun if they sign Brook. Bring him off the bench I guess.
If they get both those guys, I expect they start to use some of their young guys as trade bait for win now guys. Porter, Sengun, and even Jabari could be candidates. I imagine they’ll have Green and Amen starting at the 2/3.

I'll say it again, Schroeder isn't that bad. He's a good defender and a scrappy player in general. TOR will run things as much through Barnes and Poeltl. Much rather pay DS thirteen million or whatever than FVV the max.

The top 6 protected Raptors pick is looking delicious right now
    Oh yes.

Schroder is the perfect PG to guide a team to a the 10th pick in the draft.

He's a foul merchant from the few times i watched him, constantly looking to bait for offensive fouls.

People pointing out Masai lost FVV, Gasol, Ibaka, Kawhi, etc., for nothing.

Perspective on how Spurs managed to get a second and a first for DeRozan, who was a free agent.
But but but our front office is the worst! 🤡🤡🤡🤡

I mean, yeah, he's not that bad but the Celtics took off after trading him away and his Hawks teams got worse and worse the more and more he played.

Historically, his teams have only been good when he is playing a bit role. Maybe he'll play a bit role with the Raptors but it looks like they'll need to rely on him.

I don't think FVV or Schroeder will make or break the Raptors. They need shooting and their core to play better. If Barnes can run the offense more, Schroeder can stick with his strengths. Reading Raptors boards, he may not even start, necessarily. I think it's a bit of a mystery why they're struggling.

Nah, he's not bad. Is it because he was a Laker? Just knee-jerk dumbness?

You can want or not want Reaves at 4/100... but can we all agree that we can't let the Lakers have him at 4/52? Only the Spurs and Rockets have enough space to even offer Reaves a big deal for Lakers to match.

Dennis Schröder has a negative net rating for his entire career. Matter of fact all of his advanced stats are negative for his entire career too. But somehow he‘s a good defender?

Btw, wasn't Philly punished two SRPs for having talks with players before the start of free agency last year?

This year there were like fifteen deals announced within seconds of 5:00pm CST.

Yup... can't let them have him for that.... if they didn't match, he'd be the second best player on our team to start the year.

I imagine if Pop had to respond to that, he would glare at you, and say, “Our concern is the Spurs.”

Yeah, looks like the Spurs can still offer Reaves that four-year, $100 million deal. I'm kinda rooting for that outcome now if just for entertainment purposes

I generally agree... but at this point... is there any value the Spurs place on Reaves? It's possible they don't like him as a fit as well, in which case you can't make him an offer (because you might get stuck with him). But if they value him anywhere between 4/52 and 4/100 - they should make the offer and make LA match.

With that said, one thing we don't talk about when it comes to RFAs... we often ask "why didn't the Spurs at least offer?!?" but without actually knowing whether we did. Just because we extend an offer sheet doesn't mean the player has to sign it. It's possible Austin Reeves doesn't want to sign a 4/72 offer sheet with the Spurs, because he doesn't want to play here.

Is this the timeline where we wind up with a passable player making $40 million two seasons from now?

Sure but the point would be to force the Lakers to pay more which they said they will.
