Man, what is Keegan Murray doing playing in Summer League?
Jalen Williams picking up right where he left off last year. Shai-Williams duo is gonna be nasty af for years.
chet looking the same physically.. that's a plus for spurs
It was a nice W for us but to be honest the Hornets are terrible I want to see them go up against better talent to see how things shake out
The Miier kid seemed to look for the ref to bail him out and whine when things did not go his way. Hit some nice looking 3s near the end though
Thanks. Somehow I missed your reply last night! Cheers![]()
He was a pretty darn good player IMO. He helped the Knicks get to the finals in 1999 (I'm guessing you remember that) and then when he went to Minnesota, they made it out of the first round for the first time in the KG era during Sprewell's first year there. He was a pretty athletic player with a fiery compe iveness. Even though he choked out PJ Carlesimo (Warriors head coach at the time) during an argument heated practice, I remember reading Pop tried trading for him years later when he was with the Knicks. I'm not sure who we would have had to have traded to get himas I don't remember the details, but the fact that Pop wanted him on the Spurs shows how highly Pop thought of him and his compe iveness despite some character issues he might had a few years prior. I think Pop became friends with him during Sprewell's first two years at the Warriors as Pop was still an assistant coach there back then. I was also a huge Allan Houston fan back then too. I liked Houston with the Pistons and also the Knicks. Would have liked either or both of those guys on the Spurs.
Everyone is terrible in SL. Most guys just playing for themselves. Spurs actually running plays are going to cut through SL like peak Warriors.
sprewell was amazing. Wesley aint that
Wesley still doesn’t look like a point guard
champs shooting continues to impress
i knew Barlow would look good against summer league scrubs, but kai jones, as bad as he is in the nba, is an nba talent. But the midrange jumper being that much a part of his game is not something i saw coming at all
im not expecting sidy to get big league minutes anytime soon until he has an idea of how he expects to get points in the nba aside from transition dunks. He has game but he’s not there yet. Really hope he’s on a two way and just spends another year in the gleague
Next game?
I think the flopping penalty is a little too convoluted. I would just have the penalty be a tech against that player which does count towards ejection. One free throw for the other team, play on.
The possession thing is strange. That means if the refs determine a flop during a stoppage in play the other team might end up with the ball when play resumes.
Maybe inspired by soccer where players who flop may get a yellow card, notably in the rectangle area when they try to get a penalty. Ironic when you know how flopping and faking pain or an injury is cultural in soccer. Silver probably wants to prevent that, when you see Lebron acting like he got hit in the chin in the POs while it's pure simulation.
