What did we do in the first two years of the Korean conflict? What was the state of the aid we gave to Seoul as hostility ceased? I'll give you a hint: their economy as smaller than N Korea's at that point.

And now 70 years later it has become a very profitable situation for both parties. Korea is an excellent example. You would have the Kims control the entire peninsula 70 years ago just like you would have Russia occupy all of Ukraine.

I've also never said I would have "Russia occupy all of Ukraine". Russia isn't capable of occupying all of Ukraine. How many millions of soldiers would that take? But regardless, I would support Europe leading an effort to provide Ukraine what is necessary to defend the territory Ukraine controls now if they agree to a ceasefire now. That would mean some US support, but it would be MUCH LESS than would be necessary in an open hot conflict like we have now. A ceasefire would mean they could use the resources they have in reserve and what is provided by aid to fortify what they control and discourage another attack.

I'm fine with spending the money we are spending to basically exhaust Russia's military capabilities. The surest way, almost the only way to lose is to give up.
