Damn...now I want to see the rest of our guys.
which spurstalk poster did it........
https://www.sportskeeda.com/basketba...-scouting-infoA weird incident took place ahead of tonight's season opener between the San Antonio Spurs and Dallas Mavericks. A Spurs fan, who claimed they were in the same hotel as the Mavs in San Antonio, leaked Dallas' scouting report for Wednesday's game.
The fan posted images of the scouting reports, which include each player's stats and the way they play on both ends.
@ tre jones & doug scouting report from mavs coaches

Damn...now I want to see the rest of our guys.
Those Elephants got and Alien protecting their ass now.
Only 9? Where is the rest on Wemby, Collins, Vassell, Keldon etc?
I hope you stole all of them.
"Wesley: Verts at rim, he will get out of control..."
These guys know their stuff.

Very cool to see a look behind the scenes at an NBA scouting report!
#1 Victor Wembanyama F 7'4" 230 lbs
- Do-everything scorer
- Blocks anything in his vicinity and some shots outside of it
- Healthy stock of nutmeg in his e rack
- What the do we do against this guy?
- LION - Don't attack him
I guess the debate is closed, they call Victor a "forward".
It is 5 pages long available that you can check out in reddit https://www.reddit.com/r/NBASpurs/co...s_sa_10252023/

They also call him a "C"
they've identified Zach Collins (specifically on pick and rolls), Tre Jones, and Doug McDermott as the guys to target and attack
Doesn’t take much to work in the NBA these days.
It's funny, but on Sochan's profile, it says "don't foul", but he's listed as the 4th best player to foul on the summary page, based on last year's FT%, overall.
The summary table for FTs is just ranking the spurs on their FT%. Maybe there are oppurtunities for Hack a Shaq or you just really need to send someone to the FT line so those are the guys you should foul in order.
For the Sochan profile- I think the context is do not foul while Sochan is cutting as the preferred way to defend. It may suggest that Sochan is good at fishing out fouls in those situations or just expected to miss when defended without fouling
Also for analytics sake
3pt shot at about 40% is 1.2 pts on average
2pt shot at about 50% is 1.0 pt on average. The nearer to the basket - the easier the shot. The perimeter ones just below 3pt is lower percentage so it is discouraged.
2 free throws at about 70% league average is 1.4 pts
(and ones - 2pts + 0.7 pt from FT = 2.7pts
3pth and ones - 3pts + 0.7 pt from FT = 3.7pts)
From that information- it should be obvious what kind of baskets a team should make their opponents take more (long twos).
"Don't foul" is my favorite strategy. So long as you tell players "don't foul", then they won't foul. Works every time.
think its more along the lines of forcing him to make the turnaround instead of bailing him out. you have to be a truly awful FT% for free throws to be worse than a typical FGA (notwithstanding layups in transition, etc)
shooting 50% from the field on a 2PA is 1 point per possession. getting 2 FT's at 50% from the line is also 1 point per possession. he shoots about 70% from the line
Yup. Teams would never choose to leave a 40% 3-point shooter wide open, but giving two FTs to a 60% FT shooter is the same in terms of efficiency.
the guy took the thread down. got spooked by comments saying he's gonna face legal penalties for leaking these
As long as he only photographed them, and did put them back, he should be OK.
gets into unpublished copyright/trade secret territory when publishing them, not that id think the mavs would really do anything
at this point some tiny news websites have already been reposting it, so whats done is done
