A reality that some of you need to face is that Victor is really not great in the post. He doesn't establish position well, he doesn't seal, and he doesn't really have any moves once he gets the ball. He freelances a lot. Makes it hard to swing the ball to him at the perimeter.
True but they could have still run some other action to get him looks before the game was already out of hand tbh. The PG play was absolutely atrocious though for the entire game, not sure how much it would have mattered.

Bummer they went away from Wemby and McBuckets in the 4th qtr

    Pacers game should be interesting

Hopefully, the Spurs make it compe ive
Branham was pretty reliable. Would have been nice to see him. At all.

Zach was the only other guy they could have run it through?
    :shrug

It's just a reg season game. These games only matter to le challengers. We're trying to get our guys looks and experience. Nothing is served by leaning on Wemby long-term. We already know he can take over/dominate when needed.

I blame Pop on this one. His rotation was, well, not optimal

a simple face up jump shot will do it..... it worked pretty well the few times we tried it, including today

Pop uses y rotations every single year. Even in le winning seasons he would put some "We're probably going to lose the game" groups on the floor who then predictably the bed. Nothing new.

First full game I saw this season and I have to say, that the PG play indeed is worrysome. You never feel save...never geht the idea that we control the action...more like we get played by the defense and sometimes find something, sometimes not (which gets really ugly).

I'm neither a Sochan or Tre hater, but well...Sochan probably will end up as more of a point forward option, while Tre is what he is...a backup.

Yes, Sochan will and should be given more time, bit I will scan the following drafts hard for PGs and hope PATFO are with me.

Basketball is a team sport you just can't come down the court and dump it to Wemby all the time.
When nothing else is working and he has a mismatch? Yes the you can!

    I'm honestly fine with that.

IMO when you have a player like Wemby, every season is either A) Contend for a le or B) Develop your players.

We aren't winning a le this year or next. So we need to put those guys in situations to get them experience. Leaning on Wemby is going to get him hurt and or tire him out. 82 games is a long season esp for a rook. Getting those guys numbers also makes them easier to move when we're ready to trade to step up in contention status.
I think it was a pretty bad loss. I was fine with losing to Dallas because Luka Doncic is just gonna bust young guy's asses, he's a first ballot HOF'er. But this Toronto team is pretty crap and it makes no sense to constantly go to Collins like Pop was calling 4-down for Tim to close out the game. Wemby got a couple of pretty easy 15 footers and I don't know why you don't keep going to that when it's such a great option. Especially when he doesn't have the strength to bang for position down low so you're not killing him fighting for position.

Average at best in most areas, but a terrible PG, tbh.
He always has one of the highest assist/turnover ratios in the league... Ur just talking at this point

Man, I know Spurs making the playoffs and getting Wemby experience would be great and all, but I'm hoping they find some way to tank out the season in the end. Spurs are a prospect away from a dynasty-level core, and getting it next year when Wemby is youngest would be incredible...

His first bad game in a long time and we ready to on him? Wow
Gotta concur. Tre has been rock solid this season outside of that second half today.

No we don't... Wemby needs to also develop... Stop talking as if he has reached his prime already and has nothing left to learn

Sochan is terrible at point, but it’s a fantastic loss. Poop also showed he’s mid among the current crop

16 shots for Wemby is ing stupid. Zach ing Collins, Keldon, and Tre Joans are the go to guys now? What a stupid game. The scrubs (ie, everyone other than Victor) need to understand they’re just role players.

wemby should be taking no less then 20 shots a game,Even if hes having a bad shooting night....If this team cant do that for him..This team
his holding his potential back and not doing there job in coaching.

None of the other players matter. It’s literally Wemby and a bunch of expendable role players. The “development” of these other players has zero impact on the future of the spurs.

Beautiful strawman. But to be expected from you.

Zero impact? You do realize we're going to be trading several of them, right?

Y'all need to act like you've been watching basketball for more than two seasons with these kneejerk reactions. Young teams are going to lose games they should win. We're the youngest team in the league. Our superstar is 19 and you're acting like if his USG% is under 40 it's a crime against humanity.

Save the panic takes for 3 years from now when we're actually contending for a le.
