I guess its relative but right now I think Aflleck can make a good Boston Crime Drama but that doesn't mean he's going to be able to make a wide range of movies.
I'll put it to you this way, M. Night was a good director after the Six Sense but do you consider him a good director now?
Good analogy, though I think Shyamalan's biggest problems are in the writing department. Even his crappiest films have been, at least in moments, visually interesting.
Does Eminem's "I'm not affraid" being played in the trailer hurt or help the movie's chances of getting Oscar nominations?
Pretty good movie overall. Kept me interested with a good storyline and some action sequences. I imagine if Ben tries anything different directing it may be in the Chick Flick department.
Movie sucked, didn't make sense. Girl wasn't even hot, definitely not anywhere close to good looking enough to risk being caught. And why not just leave town instead of being forced to committ another robbery
Because The Florist threatened the girl he fell in love with, and he knew she wouldn't skp town with him.
I honestly thought it was more about revenge for his mother.
That is pretty much the way I saw it.
An entertaining but unmemorable movie. Don't see what the fuss is about - this movie routinely explores some very familiar territory, nothing special. Worth a download or DVD rental.
Will not be added to the pantheon of great crime/heist movies.
Rebecca Hall is not attractive? Wow. So what's your definition of hotness and beauty?
clint eastwood should have done this movie instead of affleck
Decent movie, although I couldn't stop myself from drawing parallels to Heat.
Saw it last night. Solid movie.
I think Jeremy Renner for Best Supporting Actor was the only nomination the movie got.
I saw it last night... I thought it borrowed several themes from Al Pacino/Robert De Niro's "Heat"....
But is was still a good movie...
I saw this movie after inception and the fighter, so I thought it sucked.
Late to The Town party.
Ya that's pretty much how i saw it too.
Really wished he and girl would have chosen a way to split town and start a new life.
However he was such a prick the way he broke the news to Blake Lively that he was no longer interested + had a new chick. Sealed his fate with that delivery as she turned rat under pressure from prick cop Ham.
I'd a bet the farm that you'd be solidly against Ben, Mult. He's "Butt Man" in Hollywood. He goes around shoving his thumb up women's assholes thru their clothes at parties and such doings. Why the double standard, fart face?
Can't say I've watched many of his movies.
Goodwill Hunting he was merely a bit actor.
Changing Lanes was interesting, altho the ending was a dud.
Argo had a good set up but ultimately was a bunch of hype.
When he started dating Lopez i just lumped him in with the rest of the plastic crowd.
As to the parties, i know all about them. Bunch of very unfulfilled people.
Have no idea what "double standard" you're suggesting.
Now back to The Town, did you like it?
You crucify Trump for grabbing pussies, even though "they let you."
This is an American cinema masterpiece, the Renner performance as Jem is up there with Daniel Plainview/Anton Chigurgh/Hannibal Lecter, and anybody who says otherwise is a moron.
talk about a terrible Boston movie
