Most here don't know anything about the Iceman.
ice could literally score at will
anytime he wanted to
without fail
guaranteed
Most here never saw him play. They say Manu is better.
their loss…
they could dig up those grainy highlight reels and watch a master at work
He was in Top Gun, right?
I loved to watch both guys play in their day. Manu was compe ive as and pure clutch in his prime. Gervin was as special as it gets and there's never been another player like him. He was one of a kind. Maybe if ICE had better teammates he would have won a ring. It's difficult to compare the two because they were just different but I think I'd take Manu if I had to choose teams. Ice didn't care much for defense or passing and we loved him anyways.
If someone can get a recording for the rest of us poors that'd be awesome

Legend, thanks.
Kuklinski used to kill his opponents regularly...will give it a watch later
Gervin was much better.
Prime Gervin was unstoppable. I'm sure if the three ball was a thing he'd of mastered that too. Not much he couldn't do offensively.
Hearing MJ and Magic talk about how Gervin was an all-timer and such an influence on MJ, Kobe, and now Durant, was pretty incredible.
Caught up with his game this summer after watching some “Ring of the Rowel”. I am from ‘81 so for basketballers from that era we knew him for his ambidexterity and unconscious jumpshot.
This summer I saw how crazy he was with that hook shot. Like if he stopped the ball he’d start pivoting around and throw up some crazy hook from 15 feet as soon as he got space. Anyway the unconventional shots that he could make were very special.
if anyone claims to be a spurs fan and don't know about Iceman, then they are lying. Kids and teenagers get a pass, as an adult, you should have done your research by now. That's like these new warror fans not knowing anyone that played for the team prior to 2015
Iceman is one of the most underrated players ever tbh
That’s right Ice… Man. I am dangerous
Also 1983 was the best Spurs team not to win a ring
That first year when Ice came in (and Nater to a lessor extent) things really turned around and the Spurs became a threat
KD before KD.
Indiana had a rookie named Dudley Bradley, and he was supposed to be Mr. Defense. I was coming into town, so the Pacers had a promotion—hold Gervin under 30 points and everyone gets free McDonald’s. Well, I broke the record for that arena. I scored 55. When I walked out of there, I said, “No one eats for free on Ice!
A pretty hot take seeing how good the 2004, 2006, 2013, and 2016 teams were. But I wasn't watching the Spurs back then so I don't have a direct way to compare.
More nostalgia I guess but that year really seemed the year for them to win it all. Gilmore was great. Had all the pieces to win a championship. Matched up well with the Lakers. We were tough and not just a run and gun team. I guess the lights out game and this year were the two real years Gervin could’ve and should’ve rang. It’s a damn shame it didn’t happen.
04 I believe we don’t ring regardless and lose to the Pistons
06 was ours to win if Horry could make a ing shot
i feel like 12 was a better team than 13 tbh. I know we lost to OKC in the rigged series in 12 and made it to the finals and were 30 seconds away from winning the chip. BUT I feel like we kick the Heats ass in 12 tbh. we might’ve repeated tbh or maybe 3peated. The refs really screwed a potential dynasty all bc Stern wanted to sell Durant vs Lebron and instead we got a 5 game ass kicking
