In his last few games he doesn’t play near the basket on defense
He had 5 to 7 rebounds per game in his last 4 games. Even with the low minutes, it’s very low for a 7’4

Seems like a choice from the spurs that I don’t understand
And aslo opposing center are getting to the 3 point line to draw Wemby out of the lane

What do you think of it?
And shouldn’t the spurs play a lot more of zone defense to have wemby under the basket at all time on defense?

His teammates love to pack the paint/leave the 3pts openned and take some of his rebounds too

He had to take one off of Wesley yesterday, Champagnie last game etc

He played in the paint in Boston, they just never challenged him, by design,and why would they, with the way their 3 pointers were falling?

I don’t think Spurs players should defer to each other for rebounds. We have enough trouble in that area. If you’re near it, grab it.

When they do rarely pass him the ball on the way to the basket, it arrives about half a step late when he’s almost under the basket. At this point in the season, that makes me seriously question the basic intelligence of his teammates. They can’t really be that stupid…. Or can they?

I’m basically committed to that game. Have friends from CA flying in to visit the fam and we already have tix for the game. Sucks if he’s out for no good reason tbh

Some appear to be that stupid - Jones a least tries and can put an accurate pass to him. VW's long strides cover a lot of ground pretty quickly.

The problem with Tre is that he is not a threat to make three pointers. At the Celtic game, sometimes the nearest defender was 10 feet away when he had the basketball at the three point line. I'm wondering if this is why he is not starting. Branham is a better shooter, but not a better point guard, but I think his shooting is why he starts.

not advocating for branham but he is not that bad and not comparable to Jones in anyway

last month branham shoots a 35.6% for 3 ( 3.2 attempts and 32% for the year)… not bad. While Jones shoot at 15% in that period.
