In the Spurs vs. Maverick showdown tonight, the Spurs need to retaliate. After being eliminated at home in Game 7, this usually unimportant game is suddenly a must-win game.
The Spurs need to reclaim their spot on the top of he pack. A loss tonight to Dallas could be devastating.
In fact, I think tonight's game is more important than Game 7 itself.

The Spurs SL squad will come out fast and hard. With Smith and Meltzer signed and certainly mortal locks to make the season roster the Spurs players will play that much stronger knowing that their are two less roster slots. Of course, that won't change the fact that Stern will have sent his finest hencherees to ensure the Mavs will win.
Call me when the real season starts.
