Unanimous too**. Only the 6th player ever to accomplish that feat. Wild.
As expected. Well-deserved. One of the 5 greatest Rookie seasons in NBA history for the generational talent. Spurs are stupid lucky to have this kid.
Unanimous too**. Only the 6th player ever to accomplish that feat. Wild.
Nice, whether or not it would be unanimous was the only question mark outstanding. Good to see some of the Chet stans came to their senses.
Should be 7 though, tbh (with 3 of the 7 being Spurs). Still can't believe three ing people voted Keith Van Horn over Timmy
Only players ever to be named ROY Unanimously:
Ralph Sampson
David Robinson
Blake Griffin
Damian Lillard
Karl Anthony-Towns
Victor Wembanyama
Another milestone for the kid.
1 year into his career, Wemby’s already done something Tim never did. Hopefully at some point he accomplishes another thing that Timmy never did, back to back les for the Spurs!
UNANIMOUS BABY
He also did something Duncan never did. Miss the playoffs lol
Victor Wembanyama lives up to outrageous hype: ‘He’s a one-off as a player’ - The AthleticAsk R.C. Buford when he first saw Wembanyama in action and the response is instantaneous.“May 4, 2019,” blurts the chief executive officer of Spurs Sports & Entertainment, the seventh position Buford has held in 34 years with the San Antonio Spurs organization. “He was 15 years old. There was nobody else in the gym. It was somewhere in France, but not Paris.”
A phone call from the Spurs’ head of international scouting, Claudio Crippa, is what put Buford on a flight to Paris and then on a drive to see Wembanyama playing for Nanterre 92. The only observers, other than personnel of the two teams, were Crippa and Buford.
What happened to Scoot Henderson?
it was a privilege to witness his rookie season. congrats to Wemby!
Glad it was unanimous tbh

More surprising than Wendy get unanimous rookie of the year is Scoot not even getting top 6. At one point last year many had him 1b to Wendy’s 1a.

We all know Chet really won the award. ROY has historically gone to the best rookie on the best team. Who cares that Victor is multiple tiers above Holmgren as a player? What matters is winning. Rookies are supposed to lead their teams to the playoffs, and as we all know, the Spurs had the same winning percentage without Wemby on the court than with him. If the NBA didn't hate the Thunder so much, this travesty wouldn't've happened.
The sad thing is, there will be people who read this and don't realize I'm being sarcastic.
At bare minimum there was a debate wether to take him or Miller at 2
Nonetheless congrats Victor!
Just finished watching the interview on TNT. I love how he gave a shout out to Pop for teaching him how to wipe his own ass. 6 is on the way boys
I really, really didn't think it would be. I really thought there would still be some journalists bent on picking Chet. Man that feels great.
Race for Seis?
If we have less than 8 as a franchise then we have failed him
