    What the Fifth Amendment Says:
"No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offence to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation."

    Frequently Asked Questions
What does it mean to plead the 5th?
Pleading the 5th generally means a person is using their Fifth Amendment protection against self-incrimination. It allows you to refuse to answer questions during a criminal trial to avoid accidentally confessing to the crime. Pleading the Fifth is similar to the right to remain silent in police custody - they both come from the Fifth Amendment.

It is the defense lawyers responsibility to protect their client.
A lawyer for Trump would be out of his mind letting him take the stand.
Trump would absolutely destroy himself on the stand.

Just remember the phone call to Zelensky. That was one of the stupidest phone calls a president has ever made. Actually asking a foreign spy agency to spy on his political opponent in an election OVER THE PHONE. Republicans were ting their pants. All kinds of ridiculous excuses. And then just finally resorting to full blown partisan foul play.

The only reason Trump was not only impeached, but actually tried and found gulity was the Republicans owned a majority. That was an open and shut no no for a president. An actual court would ruin Trump forever. He would be in a federal prison.

What's the over/under for hours of jury deliberation before they say they're deadlocked?

If he did go on the stand, would the prosecution be able to question him about Stormy describing his small mushroom?

I hope & pray you're right, bum. All he did wrong was make President.

That'll teach him and any other smart ass off the street who think he'll try it next. Think again, bub. "What's happened to Trump for doing it is child's play to what will happen to you."

Word was sent ahead thru the high-tech and attempted real life lynching of President Trump.

Trump is a 1-off...they'll never be another.

But he got 'em direct. He knows it. They know it. And he knows that they know he knows it.

That's why we're here tonight, kids.

We know 100 percent it will not be a straight acquittal - because an acquittal has to be unanimous...

We know the evidence strongly supports a conviction if the jury looks at the evidence and only the evidence and all 12 need to agree - however...

No one knows if 1 trumper is secretly on this jury ready to do his cultist duty...

    welp

    hung jury it is!

less than a 0.000000001% chance the other 11 jury members explain the basics of truth vs propaganda and he evolves into a human who wants to honor his oath/duty

    *edit
oh btw- what a failure by prosecutors NOT to auto disqualify that juror!

    NM Rumpy i found it:

Some commentators have suggested that Trump might find a guardian angel in Juror 2, the only one to have admitted to following Trump on Truth Social and to getting his news from the platform. But the media consumption graphic only tells part of the story. “I read basically everything,” Juror 2 said. “I follow Truth Social posts from Trump on Twitter. I do follow Michael Cohen, Mueller She Wrote, and some more.” He said that Trump has done some good for the country, but added “it goes both ways.” (That doesn’t sound exactly like a MAGA diehard.)

Might not be as nefarious as I thought when I saw the chart on the NY Times site. This adds context for juror 2:

    https://www.cbsnews.com/news/trump-t...rk-hush-money/

Really getting difficult to trust NYT on its own these days.

    no its worse

he sounds exactly like a magat trying to hide his cult allegiance…

also there are a couple of others who also sound like trumpers who are trying to disguise their allegiance

hung jury is probably the outcome here

Did he also bring out his healthcare plan and show his tax records?

Come on, tell me he at least marked a legal defense poster with a sharpie!
