He reminds me of that forward from Ohio State we drafted and never played in the NBA.
Like most everything I see from him as a pick at this point in the second round, but Homey looks slower than slow. I see he's supposedly switchable on guards but I'll have to see it to believe it. All in all, not a bad near of the end of the draft pick.
If he'll improve his shot i see a rick fox
Branham...oh I almost forgot, "never" played. Close enough though.
Deshawn Thomas
If Ingram really killed it in workouts and they kept him at 48 imagine how ty the workouts for everyone available at 8 must have been.
65 is good size for a 3/4??
deshaun thomas? that guy was a better scorer
Size is more than height. Ingram is 234 lbs with a 7'0'' wingspan, prototypical combo forward/big wing physical tools.
Unfortunately, he's more of a theoretical than actual shooter, which makes him a certified "laser" around here.
the futuristic power of bust. no way this guy makes it in the NBA. Guandong Southern Tigers are calling, they want their pick back
He was. In many ways, he was to forwards circa 2010 as Malaki is to guards. He's having himself a decent career overseas, but the Spurs were never serious about giving him a chance. He forced his was onto the roster one off-season and got cut.
Watched some highlights and immediately thought he looked like Grant Williams and then saw that was everyone’s comp. He needs to cut some weight, but it’s a fine pick. Wished we used 35 on a legit player and moved on from a bench scrub.
I've been retroactively listening to podcasts talking about him as a draft prospect. One thing that stuck out of me was that one person basically said "Ingram can do things with the ball, but in order to be a successful NBA player, he needs to focus on shooting at a high rate and guarding whoever he's put out there to check." That is the Danny Green path. Danny was a power-forward in school and had more junk in his game that he would show early in his career. Pop even ran Danny as the backup PG for a stretch. However, during the lockout, Danny realized that he was only going to be an NBA player if he could make himself into a three-and-D player, and he worked really hard over the break to do so. He went from a guy who had some potential in a lot of areas to an only-three-only-D player for whom it was a mistake to do anything else.
In an ideal world, Ingram would do that. He'd work tirelessly on his shot so that his UNC shooting carried over, and he's use his impressive physical tools to become one of the better front-court defenders in the league. There's absolutely a place for that kind of player on a championship team, let alone this Spurs team. However, he got drafted by the Spurs, and history tells us, he's likely going to be sent to Austin to play PG. He'll spend at least one season with the ball in his hands "learning to read defenses", but his shot will lag behind. The Spurs probably didn't see a modern three-and-D forward. They probably saw a "positionless player" and are going to consider his value based on his ability to drive and make plays instead of playing the support role his attributes project him to play. I'm pessimistic about how he'll do, but I really do think the talent is there. Castle, Dillingham and Ingram would've been a nice trio to leave the draft with.
was he a chess player, too?
He will spend the season in Austin. At least that’s something. Now what about shooters.
Like sidy or champagnie or Johnson?
yep redundant and wasted pick.
Hes got good measurements for a 3/4 combo forward. Only 65.25 without shoes but 70 wingspan and decent standing reach at 86.5 (more of a 3 than a 4). 235 pounds should allow him to defend most 4s but most will be able to shoot over him.
Another thing that stood out is he has big hands which might explain some of the excellent rebounding numbers and good passing/ball handling.
Decent 3 point stroke too.
Hopefully he has a good work ethic to continue improving his game and his Spanish.
He has an action star name. So there's that.
The Jack McClinton maneuver
This is off topic, but what's the context for the gif in the signature?
He's the Beth Harmon of this draft.
PATFO playing 4d
Looks like Ingram us already cut weight, so that’s good.
