It'll be more fun when we get through July.
Worst month of the year for college football.
I still wonder how this would have gone if they'd have gone independent money and TV wise.
But as a college football fan these SEC matchups really are gonna be awesome.

Based on how things worked out, just so thankful they didn't move to the Pac-12 all those years ago.
Anxious for the inaugural 12-team playoff as well.
I think 12 is a tad too many teams, but those first round games on campuses will be amazing.
With 100+ teams at this level 12 still isn't fair.
They'll go to 16.
What do you feel is fair without having to play so many extra games?
Division II does 28 teams every year and I dont hear any complaints from any of them
I do think they need to finally just come out and separate the top 64 marketable teams from the rest.
It will take a LOT more games for me to reach a saturation point.
And thanks for all you do Tfloss. The old site is not nearly as good since you left
I really like seeing how different players are progressing when practice gets serious in August.
We saw what Wingo can do in a spring game against possibly a few inferior dbs.
Now how does he do in August a few weeks before first game?
I appreciate you culling through what you can however. takes time.
Division I is pro football lite. So welcome to the real world of violence.
These kids are getting paid so they will used and abused not unlike an NFL team.
It will be interesting to see if some sort of union attempts to protect them.
True, he was seriously impressive. Amazing praise from Saban though.
I now have a reason to come back to this thread. Appreciate all the hard work and time Tfloss.
DMX, good to see you brother.
Welcome back, sir.
Good to be home.
No problem, hope to bring a lot more to the board as opposed to five years ago.
I wasn't on Twitter/X back then, so I missed a lot of good info out there.
More playoff games is awesome and you'd receive no complaints from me as I'd happily watch them all. I love the FCS playoffs too.
My view is that 12 is sufficient to the point where nobody should be able to say "well, why was that team left out?"
I know people will no matter how big the playoff gets ("why the fu** is Citadel not in there?!?"), but I think 12 takes care of all the favorites and a few underdogs being able to go at it.
As an example, I don't need to see a random MAC team thrown in there to feel like all of our bases are covered.
What's up, Billy?
All good, five years at HS was a solid run.
OTF believes the following guys are the main ones Texas will continue to recruit through the fall:
WR, Kelshaun Johnson, Hitch
WR, Dallas Wilson, Tampa Bay Tech (Tampa, FL)
DT, Myron Charles, Port Charlotte (Port Charlotte, FL)
DT, Josiah Sharma, Folsom (Folsom, CA)
DE, Javion Hilson, Cocoa (Cocoa, FL)
LB, Matai Tagoa'i, San Clemente (San Clemente, CA)
CB, Devin Sanchez, Galena Park North Shore
Per 247, Auburn commitment CB Devin Williams of Buford, GA is looking at the Mississippi State game on September 28th as an opportunity to get back to Austin.
"I definitely have thinking to do," Williams told Horns247 about where things stand in his recruitment right after his OV. "I'm going to be back for another game (at Texas). This was an amazing weekend. It was so much fun. I definitely have some thinking to do."
"As soon as I got out of the car at the hotel, everybody was cheering, the energy is great here. It's a great place. First time being in Texas, it was very welcoming. I got to speak to every coach. Every coach said they really want me. Everything was great. I really loved it."
"It's Texas," he said. "Big city. A lot of opportunities. Coach Joseph, me and him have a great relationship. I just wanted to come see it. I feel like they have a chance."
"They told me a lot of businesses are moving here, like Elon Musk moved his business here," Williams said. "You know, there are a lot of alumni. Make lifelong connections can make you fortunate in the future."
"He (Sark) just told me the basis of the program," Williams said. "They're about their culture. They don't talk numbers a lot, which I really like. A lot of people just come for the numbers. I'm about the culture, I'm about being here, being with the players, getting around them. He told me they really wanted me obviously. Coach Sark is a great guy."
"He (Coach Joseph) knows what he's talking about," Williams said. "What stood out to me is he doesn't coach everybody the same. He coaches everybody different. Everybody comes from different things, different techniques. He lets you do your thing, but he's going to coach you up. He's a very level-headed dude. I love Coach Joseph."
"I've narrowed it down to Texas and Auburn," he said. "We'll see what happens between those two."
"I love Coach Crime(Dawg) (Wesley McGriff) Great dude. I'm committed, so they're going to show a lot of love. I just love Auburn. You know, it's in the backyard, not far from home. I don't have no problem being far from home either way."
"It's close," Williams said. "I got some thinking to do. I'm going to be back for a game to get more of a feel for Texas. I've been to Auburn a lot. It's time to give Texas a shot."

Not a surprise with the way DT recruiting is going so far, but OTF saying expect Texas to seriously pursue JJ Hanne of Rancho Santa Margarita, CA.
He's from Germany originally and has only played football for two years, but Georgia offered him on the spot after he camped with them this summer.
He is likely to schedule an official visit to Texas this fall.

Then MAC teams shouldn't be D1
