Fun fact, since we're talking about Austin and photos here: the University of Austin holds the oldest known photograph created by French inventor Nicéphore Niépce at Le Gras. In other words, this image represents the moment when civilization moved from an essentially verbal culture to one based on images. Locals can probably go see it at the Harry Ransom Center and probably know better than me where it is.
