Also love seeing the two PG lineups with CP3 + Castle. I was super excited for Stephon coming into the season but I didn't know he'd be this good this soon.
The vets have elevated this team big time.
Castle is figuring it out fast, he's calling out opponent's plays and getting players in position defensively. That's not something I've seen many rookies do.
If we can upgrade 2-3 positions by next season, we're in the hunt for the play-in

Another satisfying win. Bassey kept that defensive momentum going for him with 6 blocks. HB with game high, and CP3 calming presence. Castle with persistence despite not getting calls. Down by 20, this was going to be a sure lost last year but they persisted. Great developing winning culture. Good stuff.
I was thinking with CP3s nice three point shot and just running offense hope he can stay elite for a few more seasons.
Not like he relies on speed and absorbing contact as much as others perhaps. that mid range is juicy.

He’s forty, and has a history of breaking down late in the season, and in the post season. He doesn’t have a few more seasons.
That’s why I said another combo guard with better size is a good draft target as we need to replace Paul.
Again, Mitch's coaching has just been a breath of fresh air this year.
Actually calling plays, halftime adjustments, and keeping these guys accountable. Spurs haven't had this level of coaching in years, very happy for the young guy tbh.

It's really cool to see them being .500 this late into the year. It's become a rare treat. Had they lost, I was going to make a poll for if/when they reached that mark for the rest of the season. They could've easily finished the month five games under. Now, it looks like they'll be within one game either way. Hopefully get they get some guys back.
Steph is an incredibly smart player. He's not getting propers for it yet, and he's making mistakes here and there, but he's legitimately extremely smart basketball-wise. You see it on the court. You hear it when he talks after games. His understanding of the game is super high for a guy who's only 20.
Paul is probably gone to a contender by the deadline.

Pretty nuts that we would be in the 5 seed in the east with this record.
And we played only one East team so far. A lot of wins to be had against those teams.
Cool to see Mitch reward Bassey with earned minutes. Seems simple but feels like Pop would have found a way to go small ball instead.
Could make sense for all but what would you expect it to net us?
