Are portal pick-ups allowed to play immediately in the CFP games, or do they have to wait until the next season?

As of today, IT is expecting WR Matthew Golden to go pro.

We had, I think, 11 players go pro last year. 3 WRs, now in the pros, played. All were drafted.
All of them played in the playoffs except the seriously injured (ex. Jonathan Brooks) by my recollection.
Therefore, Based on last year, I would venture to say yes.

I would think playing in a meaningless bowl game does nothing for a player but playing in a playoff game and putting up big numbers might increase their stock.

Two portal entrants mentioned by IT today are Texas State RB Ismail Mahdi and Georgia Tech WR Eric Singleton, Jr.

Despite Mahdi leading the nation in all-purpose yards, they think the staff may covet a bigger back.

Singleton, Jr. appears to be a no-brainer.
