keep everyone else on their toes
Would DeSantis run for SECDEF? Dunno.
I just don't see Joni Ernst, either.
But if DeSantis accepted that would be objectively much worse than Pete Hegseth. DeSantis knows his way around government and US armed forces. DeSantis is also objectively evil-er than the relatively professionally lightweight Hegseth.
SECDEF is generally outside the public eye and bureau-bound, that dovetails with DeSantis's best-known weakness, lack of personability.
But the ability to get along with the great man has always been questioned: can DeSantis reenter loyalty to Trump successfully?
So far DeSantis's name has only "been discussed"
So you think she lied?

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/...t-billionairesAt least 11 picks for strategic positions after Trump returns to the White House in January have either achieved billionaire status themselves, have billionaire spouses or are within touching distance of that threshold.
The net result will be the wealthiest administration in US history – worth a total of $340bn at the start of this week, before Trump further boosted its monetary value by trying to appoint at least three more billionaires.
Its collective wealth easily outstrips that of Trump’s first cabinet, formed after his 2016 election victory – which at the time was the richest US cabinet ever formed, containing such super-rich members as Rex Tillerson, the former chief executive of ExxonMobil, who was appointed secretary of state, and Wilbur Ross, the commerce secretary, who had become wealthy through restructuring bankrupt companies.
It also throws into stark relief the relative impoverishment of the current cabinet of Joe Biden – collectively worth a relatively paltry $118m despite having been repeatedly derided by Trump as representative of a corrupt governing elite that was cheating ordinary working Americans.
I (Mark Lucas) served as the executive director of Concerned Veterans for America (CVA), succeeding Hegseth, who brought this group to national prominence. Contrary to media reports based on anonymous sources, I can confirm that Hegseth was not fired. It was common knowledge within CVA that he was going to Fox News. This is nothing more than another tired media attack from an apparatus -bent on destroying his nomination.
The media have falsely portrayed CVA as a dysfunctional organization under Hegseth’s leadership, but the executive team and strategy I inherited from him were world-class. The proof is in the policy victories we helped President Trump deliver for veterans by reforming the Department of Veterans Affairs in 2017 and 2018.

Still haven't decided whether to attack his mother, eh?
peer group opinions for and against
https://theiceman.substack.com/p/ex-...in-dc-for-pete“There are plenty of us who realize Pete Hegseth is an alcoholic talk weenie with zero qualifications to lead DOD aside from popping up regularly in Trump’s hours of daily television consumption,” said Dan Barkhuff, a former SEAL officer.
Hegseth is “an abusive sex pest with no qualifications,” said Dave Madden, another former SEAL officer. “Frogmen speaking in his favor is just another indicator of a deeply broken culture.”
The SEAL rally for Hegseth reflects the cultural shifts in the Naval Special Warfare community that began with the publication of Lone Survivor and accelerated after the SEAL Team Six raid that killed Osama bin Laden. Once seen as “quiet professionals,” former Navy special operators now hawk books, supplements, and energy drinks and run for Congress with the SEAL Trident on their campaign bus.
The pe ion has so far gathered over 2,500 signatures from veterans, supporters, and former SEALS, including Higbie, Blackwater USA founder Erik Price, podcast host Shawn Ryan, and journalist Kaj Larsen.
Oh Blackwater doesn't approve
lol Whinehole pallin around with Cheney and Blackwater
The pe ion signed by Prince is in favor of Hagseth's nomination.
That's an impressive display of low information, snacks.
lol
reading and writing aren't his thing
My bad, didn't read it. I stand corrected, your only pallin around with Cheney.
not really
I would say you have an active fantasy life
I posted a yea and a nay from the post, you can't really ask me to be more evenhanded to Hegseth, he's a perfectly horrible candidate.
Unresolved alcoholism and philandering used to be considered disqualifying (pace John Tower), I guess times have changed.
Two charities wouldn't have him. Alcoholism and philandering.
Also, bad with money.
Appoint to DOD?
Y
why would you not?
"he's good people"
