WE TURNED ROB DILLINGHAM INTO DE'AARON FOX
WE TURNED ROB DILLINGHAM INTO DE'AARON FOX
It actually may help avoid a touchy situation with Wemby -- if Sidy gets cut, it won't be by the Spurs.
scott you were the loudest about this one. Pay up my friend lmao
I mean, it turned into 1/7th or whatever of De’Aaron Fox. Still thought it was a dumb trade, but does look better now for sure.
Spurs knew how to fleece Sacramento based on what happened with Kawhi trade to Toronto. They know Sacramento had no leverage and they played hardball.
The Nephew trade long legs continues its path…Poeltl to 8th pick to 2031 Minnesota pick to Fox.
By my count this traces all the way back to the Hill/Kawhi trade, right?
Hill --> Kawhi --> Jak --> 2024FRP --> 2031FRP --> part of this trade.
I already mentioned it earlier in the thread, but that pick alone didn't turn into De'Aaron Fox. Not fully correct in what he's saying. It contributed to the package.
Props B Wright
Also, to those who thought Collins had no value (and was a liability).
Hard to explain this trade from the Bulls' POV unless they placed some value on him.
Sacramento ESPN guys are complaining that they couldn't at least Champagnie.
38 games left. 2 games out of 10th. 5.5 out of 6th. Gonna be a tough end to the year, but doable, especially if there’s regression from DAL and LAL.
I didn't like the return we got for that trade, still don't, but I'm happy as that Brian Wright put that '31 pick to good use. Having it definitely preserved a pick in the more near term.
Can't believe we escaped with ALL of the ATL draft picks. Holy . Masterclass from Brian.
Kings Reddit is surprisingly satisfied. Not ecstatic, but also not mad at all. I think CHI dumping Lavines contract for tanking is the key to all three parties being happy here.
They've been trying to move of Lavine's contract for a while. Tre expires after this season and Zollins expires after next (a year before Lavine). They also get control of their pick back.
Hi Dejounte.
Brian Wright started off rocky as but hes been A+ last few years man. Just incredible regardless of how it turns out now.
Fair enough, but the Demar trade, also part of the Kawhi tree, also contributed to this one. Arguably the two best assets in the Fox deal going out from the Spurs come from that tree ( even the 25CHI SRP has value).
Basically we lose Tre Jones & got McLaughlin who could fit into the same role in basketball terms (aka not playing very much, behind Castle & Paul) we're not losing much here.
We lose Zach Collins who was only playing garbage time anymore and we also dump his salary.
We lose Sidy who basically only played G-League for us.
We lose Charlotte's 2025 pick which wouldn't have conveyed anyway.
We give Bulls their 2025 pick back which already has a low chance of conveying right now and even less at the end of the season since they're tanking.
We give a few 2nd round picks which we got thousands of and no one cares about.
The real value is our own 2027 pick which is projected to be pretty low & outside the lottery ; and MIN 2031.
But but but he's a DEI hire...
Wow. Just wow. I take back everything I said about GM Wrong. The man may suck at drafting but he is the art of the deal when it comes to trades. And unlike Mr. Body kept saying, we didn’t trade away all our FRPs. Crazy.
That being said, let’s trade away all FRPs and get more help![]()
McLaughlin isn't replacing Tre.
Fox is replacing Tre and is inserted into the starting lineup.
Gigantic upgrade.
Fans aren’t often known for nuance or patience.
