This was brilliant folding Chicago into this trade. We weren’t going to see that pick for god knows how long. But now Chicago can get a nice lottery pick for their tanking efforts and return more value to Sacramento than we could have. Allowing us to not have to come as strong with our better picks and rotation players.

This is just smart angling by the FO.

Yep, getting the third team involved allowed the trade to happen. The Spurs weren't going to give Sac what they wanted in a straight up deal.
