Rockets have some issues closing out games. Even when they win, there are some low IQ plays in the clutch.

On the suns-butler saga. It looks like they're open to moving KD as we've discussed, but a better deal for them might be sending Booker to Houston for all their picks...Houston sends matching salary to Miami and Butler to the suns. They could sell playing it out this season and when it doesn't work, making moves this summer, but with all of their valuable picks in hand.

We've already had two major deals, but I'm hoping for just mass chaos this deadline. I love a crazy reshuffling of the deck

And CHI wins! Fools are only a game worse record than us. Imagine that, we give them their draft pick back so they can tank and they can’t even do that right.

Chicago seriously helped us facilitate a blockbuster trade for an All-Star...to get their own draft pick back which they gave us for moving potential FA DeMar Derozan...which probably wasn't going to convey anyways.

Everyone knows DAL ownership didn't want to be on the hook for that supermax. 350mill is a lot of money but they still should have gotten so much more. Crazy that Pelinka punked Nico like that when they could have gotten Knecht and an extra 1st rounder smh
$350 mil sure is a lot of money to give Luka when you're already giving Donald Trump $100 mil

I would be furious if I was a Mavs fan. She blew a third of Luka's max on Trump donations just last year! So I'm not sure money was the issue. I actually kind of feel sorry for Mavs fans right now. It's absurd.

The [Trump dontation] money was distributed to Adelson’s super PAC, Preserve America, which she had seeded earlier this year with $5 million, in a series of installments: $25 million a month in July [2024], August [2024] and September [2024] and an additional $20 million at the end of September [2024]. sure was spending money last fall but all the sudden gets frugal on Luka's max? Hmm, perhaps anything is possible and we need to learn more because right now I admit I don't know much. But that excuse, if it's being used, seems like bull . Either that or Adelson felt like Trump was a good investment but Luka wasn't? Just not sure if money (Luka's worth/value) can be the reason for all this.

This is bad comparison. NBA has salary floor and cap. So he needs to pay some minimum amount. He won't save that. And a bad max (like aarpon stuff) can get the franchise stuck.

Politics doesn't have floor and cap. He can donate as much as he wants without a future move getting stuck and without being required to donate.

While the deal is still pretty bad not defending it. It has nothing to do with politics.

Houston would be crazy not to go for Durant with their Phoenix picks. The west is wide open and they’ll have another move to make with their remaining assets. Sure it’s smart to be patient but when incredible opportunities arise they shouldn’t hesitate, they have the infrastructure to max out Durant’s on-court value and their offense gets super ugly at times, which is their biggest issue. No brainer.

KD being shipped back to Golden State to reconnect with Draymond (who chased him out of town originally) and Steph would be hilarious.

I think Houston want Booker with those Phoenix assets, not Durant. I think they'd rather wait for Booker or another opportunity with those assets. lol. Seems the Rockets aren't the Mavericks here and are a bit smarter than that (to give up prime assets for an aging star and short term run ).

And why do the Suns want Butler if they trade Durant. That doesn't make sense to me.

Not too surprising for a team with so many players for whom shooting isn't exactly their strong suit. I still find them a fascinating watch, though.

But I thought Reed Sheppard was going to fix this when he was drafted?

Definitely would but I can't see any other way GS becomes relevant again. I feel like nba trading activity will be at a stand still till something happens with Butler/Durant since various trades are hedging off what happens with them. I could see the Spurs definitely being players in helping support this kind of trade and possibly get a serviceable big, or whatever they are looking for, in playing the third/fourth team role.

Celtics fans sigh a breath of relief, Moist Jordan always killed them.

Bucks are making desperation moves because there's nothing that can actually be done to make them legit contenders again.

Middleton’s legs completely breaking down screwed the more than anything else. If he’d stayed healthy, maybe the Lillard trade doesn’t need to happen.
