See, if you plan, like I do, you won't be getting a refund, nor will you owe [more than a few bucks, either way].

Amazingly, a properly functioning executive can manage many things at once, Winehole.

Every plane crash from now on is completely the responsibility of Trump and President Musk.

telling subordinates to defy court orders is quite the flex

A senior official at the Federal Emergency Management Agency instructed subordinates to freeze funding for a wide array of grant programs Monday, just hours after a federal judge ordered the Trump administration — for the second time — to stop such pauses.

In an email with the subject line “URGENT: Holds on awards,” Stacey Street, the director of the agency’s Office of Grant Administration, told her team to freeze funding for grant programs going back several years, including those focused on emergency preparedness, homeland security, firefighting, protecting churches from terrorism and tribal security.

"For all awards FY23 and prior: put financial holds on all of your awards — all open awards, all years (2021, 2022, 2023, 2024)," Street wrote, using the shorthand "FY" for fiscal year.

Telling subordinates to defy uncons utional court order is quite the flex.

    How is it uncons utional?

Show me a non-tweet argument pls.

My pre-emptive counter is simply this: It is emphatically the province and duty of the judicial department to say what the law is.

that's not the way the law works.

if the judicial order was faulty, US appeals courts are open, accessible and normally functioning.

Just appeal the ruling. Fast track that to Trump's SCOTUS if you have to. If the lower court is wrong, they'll say so.

I'm going to leave that up to the Superior Courts - up to and including the U. S. Supreme Court. If they find the President's actions violated the law, I'm sure there'll be screams for him impeachment. As for now, I'm guessing that idiot judge has no recourse but to sit back and watch.

I was trying to recall an old adage that would be applicable here and found these two in Google. The last being the one I was trying to think of:

Alexander Hamilton, in Federalist No. 78, described the judiciary as the "least dangerous" branch because it has "neither FORCE nor WILL, but merely judgment."

Andrew Jackson, who reportedly responded to a Supreme Court decision he opposed (Worcester v. Georgia, 1832) by allegedly saying:

"John Marshall has made his decision; now let him enforce it!"

The sentiment has been echoed in various forms throughout history, reinforcing the idea that judicial power depends on compliance from the other branches of government. The only recourse the judge has is to wait until the matter is escalated through superior courts.

That's just what I said to do, genius.

But if you're doing that, you're just ting on your idea of the imperial presidency you're trying to push.

    Pick a lane.

Well, that's what I said to do way earlier in this thread, genius. Why are you still harping on it?

All of this is going to be settled in the courts. Probably at the U.S.S.C. level.

I was simply countering your argument the President's actions were somehow illegal or uncons utional.

Do you think Trump is beholden to obey the decision of the Supreme Court of the United States?

    Yes or no.

They certainly could be. You can't claim it's impossible just because you worship the guy.
