There are lots of ways to do it without Barnes, but Barnes expiring is probably quite appealing to PHX.
But, both of these work (other things also work, but these are structures that work with the minimum amount of salary going to PHX):
Vassell + Keldon
Vassell + Sochan + Branham + Wesley

It's Durant. If it means keeping Sochan I would have no problem saying bye to Barnes.
Maybe Barnes gets thrown in and bought out at some point. Could play out the year and come back as an UFA the next season? I liked how competent his minutes were and he was the only guy we had who I legitimately expected his 3 pointers to go in (JChamp early in the season felt like that but it tapered off by December).
keldon and barnes are basically interchangeable in the vassell packages
it only gets messy if devin isnt in there, at which point you need keldon + barnes and at least 2 other players
I wonder if the Spurs have any hesitance over trading Barnes after he waived his trade kicker to facilitate the Fox trade.
Keldon's contract has an additional year on it that Barnes doesn't. The Suns probably wouldn't want to take that on but interestingly Keldons last 2 years of his deal are descending which may seem more attractive if they already value Keldon a little bit.

This is just more saber rattling. Durant holds all the cards here...and teams aren't just going to dump valuable assets for a one-year rental of him.
These aggregated tweets are often a bit out of context. If you listen to where Amick actually talked about this, it wasn’t really like a “Phoenix officially doesn’t give a about KD’s preferences and has decided to trade him wherever” type of report.
Amick said that Phoenix started off only discussing to the teams on KD’s list. They then moved to also speaking to teams not on his list. That’s about the extent of it. I’m still skeptical that Toronto/Minnesota are actually offering the sort of packages that are being rumored, and I’m also skeptical that Phoenix would burn a veteran of KD’s stature + big-time agent by telling KD to kick rocks and go play in Minnesota.
I maintain that this is a bunch of posturing by Phoenix to try and get Houston/San Antonio to improve their offer. I think it’s pretty likely he ends up with one of those 2 Texas teams and not Minnesota/Toronto. Guess we’ll see soon enough.
