I generally hate trading down but I said before the lottery that if we got picks 3 or 4 I would be hoping to trade down. That’s how much I dislike those slots in this draft.
There is a significant drop off after 1-2, the guys projected 3-4 don’t inspire me, and the draft looks very flat to me from 3-9.
I’m so glad we aren’t trying to figure out #3 or #4.
Philly is so desperate to move off of #3 that they offered us multiple 1sts + #3 to move up and we hung up on them. Good.

Nah we would’ve taken VJ and slept great about the choice.
Yep, there is a maybe 10% or so chance that he ends up as the best pick in this draft and probably a 30% or more chance that he ends up better than Harper. So while I am on board with drafting Harper Philly may be a real show for the next few years and getting a bunch of unprotected draft picks from them could be golden. If the Spurs decided to pull the trigger on the trade I wouldn't be upset.
They have hanging picks already, 25 or 26 to OKC 1-4 protected and 27 or 28 to Brooklyn 1-8 protected. They do own a 28 LAC pick, but I’m not sure they can trade that right now, with those other interlocking conditional picks from 25 to 28. Stepien rules, and all.
Ace Bailey’s team is looking for a “pathway to s om”. Sucks this kid is getting such terrible advice. He wants to be treated like Cooper Flagg. Red flag on red flag. Not even sure where to place him on a draft board now. Seems like a guy that will bail at the first sign of hardship. For now he wants to be star. When reality hits he will want to play with “other stars” and force his way out of whatever situation he is in. Even if he ends up as good as he thinks he is it sounds like he will end up a career journeyman. I still think he gets picked in the top 8 because it only takes one team but he is already hurting his perception coming into the league.
With the at ude him and his team are showing:
Not going to Mavericks or Spurs.
76ers have to be out canceling a workout is disrespectful.
His “team” probably doesn’t want hornets because that franchise has a terrible record of developing players. Also Lamelo Ball lol
Jazz on the surface makes sense but do they want to draft a guy “looking for s om”. Utah is not the place where you go for that. I would be worried about him wanting to go to a big market as soon as he can. Things small markets have to think about when evaluating a player
Wizards at 6 make sense. DC in theory is a big market even if the franchise hasn’t been successful since the name change. Still do they want him influencing their other young players. One bad apple as they say
Pelicans at 7 lol. Pair him with wannabe be pornstar/domestic violence/SA charged Zion. Ride the bench behind Murphy and Herb Jones lmao. I’m sure his team wants that
Nets are the obvious choice if he falls but Sean Marks fresh off the Durant/Kyrie disaster does he really want to deal with this kid. I think he might get outvoted. But if he doesn’t…
I feel like the Raptors already have a clear vision for what they are going to do. They either have a prospect they really like Maluach/Essengue or they are working on a deal to trade this pick for a vet.
Rockets with Udoka and their roster would eat this kid alive. He would get humbled so fast. Honestly it might be the perfect spot for him to get humbled. He won’t get to play but if Udoka can change the at udes of Jalen Green, Jabari Smith and others he can put Bailey in line.
If he falls past that who knows. Someone please pick him before 14. Keep him away from Harper. You also don’t want to pass on Harper’s friend but surely Dylan is smart enough to know they should not be paired together. He probably figured that out at Rutgers.
Vecenie ranked his top 20 prospects of the past decade and Harper came in 14th. No surprise but Wemby was 1.
Maybe it's an act to purposely fall to 14...he fills a need n would have way to s om simply based on playtime
Do not seek the treasure.
Almost feel bad for the guy…does he not have any professional help around him to guide him through this process? Is he just receiving terrible advice? At this point it’s malpractice what his management team is doing with him…unless he really is just stubborn and telling everyone he’s going to do it his own way.
lol so if you put those top 20 in this draft Harper would end up on the Spurs at 14!! It’s destiny lmao. Except we would lose Wemby.
If Markkanen gets dealt for PG, Wolf to Jazz at 21 would be a natural move to make.
This Ace Bailey stuff is getting ugly. I was listening to the Barlowe Brothers this morning and they said they heard rumors that Ace Bailey and his team are charging teams a certain amount of money in order to get an interview or workout with him. Can you imagine charging a potential employer for them to have the right to interview you for a job. It’s staring to look like we know what Ace Bailey and his “team” are all about $$$
Probably would be Dennis 2.0 with this dude, I'd stay far away. Probably why the 76ers are trying so hard to get the #2.
Also they talk about how Ace Bailey’s agency is new and trying to revolutionize how they can get paid. They said there are reports that Ace Bailey doesn’t want to go to Phily, charlotte, or Utah. To me sounds like he is trying to force his way to Brooklyn. Nasty work
Another tidbit from the Barlowe Brothers about Bailey. When interviewing with teams he has been asking about his 2nd contract.
lol this guy wants a guarantee he will get a max extension before even stepping in the league
For those questioning the intelligence of Ace Bailey's representation, he is sounding like the type of guy who would only hire someone willing to indulge in his narcissistic tendencies. Any agent who would've actually tried to guide/mentor Ace through this draft process in an appropriate manner was weeded out long ago. It really makes me wonder what Rutgers was like behind the scenes this last year.
Ace Bailey to start selling NFTs and crypto currencies soon.
No ing way! :subscribed:
How much would he charge? If I'm the Sixers, I pay it and post that transaction online for the world to see - and then of course draft Edgecombe.
Are you able to post his list?
Who does this got think he is. Never even seen a consensus #1 Overall Pick act this way, let alone a guy who would be lucky to go in the top-5
. Kid is getting some legit terrible advice from whoever his handlers are if they rumors are true.
Ace Bailey has "bust" written all over him. Poor shot selection, poor ball-handler, poor finisher at the rim (42%), poor pull-up jump shooter from both the midrange (36%) and from 3 (24%), Negative Assist-to-turnover Ratio, low Rim Pressure Rate, average FT shooter, etc.
He was hailed as some elite athlete, and he measured in at a disappointing 6'7.5 barefoot at the combine after being labeled as 6'10 and had an even lower vertical than Kon Knueppel. Add in his seemingly terrible at ude and absurd ego and he has all the makings of a guy who will eventually be selling CD's out of the back of his car with Uncle Dennis tbh.
