Instead of applying the tax credit to the insurer's bill automatically on behalf of the purchaser I suggest sending them a check so they can...also pay the insurer's bill but with several additional steps.

The TrumpRx thing is actually lowering the prices of some drugs. It's an interesting concept.
Truth is, it's hard to lower the price of healthcare overall in the US when you have the profit motive so powerfully entrenched in the system with insurers.
Too many American also live poor lifestyles by eating too much junk food, not exercising enough and not getting enough sleep. That makes managing health more difficult than for your average Joe living in say Denmark.
Only a Trump could unintentionally figure out a way to make living in Denmark sound better than the US.

Besides this being sort of a warmed over version of HSAs, it removes the transparency in the ACA exchanges, takes away the subsidies that made premiums less unaffordable, and leaves the consumer isolated to do business mano a mano with the big bad insurance companies who are supposed to be the bad guys

ACA was huge for this, insurance companies used to let people twist and die after cutting them off
