I'll add that it's going to suck seeing Texas sitting at home when they will have beaten 25% of the playoff field.

And they'd be favored against several of them on a neutral field.

    But...Florida.
It also took all that Texas could muster to beat Missy St and Kentucky. I actually want to see the horns in the playoffs. I'm just not seeing how the committee puts them in over 10 win teams. The 25 point loss to Georgia was also not a good look.

OTF believes North Carolina currently has better than a 50/50 chance to flip Cleveland.
IT is expecting Cleveland to flip to North Carolina this week.

They're offering an NIL deal that Texas isn't willing to match.

FYI Dinnich from ESPN has Texas out of the playoff.

She's usually very accurate with her predictions and likely has a source on the committee.

Goodbye to scheduling good games in nonconference. This will just hurt fans who want to see great games in nonconference not cupcakes. If they did not play ohio state they would be in cause it sounds they only look at how many losses and not compare schedules. These automatic have to go too. No way Virginia and Tulane should be in.

You can't say "we shouldn't be punished for scheduling a tough school" because the reason you scheduled them was to get rewarded if you win.

Why play it. Play like tech does and schedule cupcakes

I think everyone would agree they would rather see tx vs ohio state than tx vs south Dakota. Or rather see tech vs clemson instead of tech vs ACU

And the real reason they schedule tx vs ohio state is because money not what they would get out of it. Its all about money

This whole Ohio State argument aside, I think everyone in the SEC is going to be evaluating scheduling anyway with the league moving to nine conference games in '26.

The risk/reward of scheduling big non-conference games, other than money, isn't what it was.

Subject to change when the playoff expands to 16, 20, etc. and there's more wiggle room to lose.

Because of the reward. If the Aggies had lost to South Carolina and had 2 losses right now instead of one, they would be pointing hard at that Notre Dame win..... because the rest of their wins were really .

Definitely a risk/ reward factor like tfloss mentioned. Maybe being in the SEC is enough to schedule more UTSA and less Ohio State.

Notre Dame can't schedule 12 patsies and expect a playoff invitation

I think everyone in SEC should have Bama or Georgia on their schedule regardless. Then two top 25 SEC teams sprinkled in, its wild to think that some teams play neither for years at a time.

OTF saying the Texas staff spoke with OL Malakai Lee of Honolulu, HI "for a while" today and they continue to feel they have a shot as NSD approaches on Wednesday.
