On Texas specifically, I think we all agree they'd be comfortably in the playoff this year if the field were 16 teams.

By expanding to 16 or even as high as 24, my guess is the majority would be more inclined to keep and/or schedule bigger non-conference games knowing they'd have more wiggle room to lose.

As an example, eight of the 24 teams in this year's FCS playoff were 8-4, with another at 8-3 and a lone 7-5.

No solution would ever completely stop ing and moaning at the end of every season, but the scrutiny over a 24-team field would be a lot less serious and possibly even better if they were to get rid of at least some of the unneccessary AQ (automatic qualifer) spots and simply use rankings.
I agree. If Tulane and James Madison want in the tournament, they should play at least one good team out of conference.
A team that hasn’t played anybody should not be in.
i hope the tourney gets boycotted and tv sponsors choke the out of the selection committee. I know I won’t be watching their so called “National championship tournament”

I'm not mad at all about any G5 team making the playoff as long as they're ranked accordingly.

What needs to be corrected is a G5 team being unable to jump from like #20 to #12 in one weekend simply because they won their conference.

Ideally I'd like to see conference winners seeded as they're ranked by the committee.

When they take up from teams that should be in i do see an issue. 16 team will mostly take care of that. 24 team playoff certainly will. Just too many teams. If they keep at 12 they need to form their own tourney.

The issue I see is that they just don't belong. They don't get the recruiting that the P4 schools get and will get crushed in the playoffs 99 times of 100. The chance of any of them winning the le is ridiculously low. Let them play in a different division.

Two quick notes from Nahlin at IT...

*****I feel as good as ever on Hero Kanu, Trevor Goosby, Jelani McDonald, and Jack Endries returning. 2026 needs experience and these guys are experienced and future pros. A couple have first round potential. Retention is as important as portal.

*****I feel as good as ever when it comes to portal prospects for the January window. There will be plenty of time to go into detail but it’s hard not to feel optimistic when hearing about Texas’ level of motivation and the level of reciprocal interest the program is receiving.

On3 saying TE target Brock Williams of Libertyville, IL will be making a decision soon, and no later than January.

It's down to Georgia, Ohio State and Texas, and they believe it benefits Texas the longer it plays out.

Florida's On3 site on RB Jadan Baugh...

"Florida has been negotiating with Baugh for a couple weeks. UF initially felt good about retaining him — its new offer more than doubled his 2025 NIL salary — but that was before Juluke went to Texas. I’m told Juluke is trying to recruit both Baugh and Ja’Kobi Jackson to Austin and the Longhorns have made Baugh a significant offer. Georgia and Ohio State are also after him heavily. There are probably only 4-5 running backs in the country that make $1M per year in NIL and Baugh could be one of them in 2026. Florida has to decide how much it is willing to pay him and what other players/positions will take pay cuts if they break the bank for Baugh. We’ll see what happens, but it is possible that he could hit the portal."

Has anyone heard of the Horns strategy on LSU OT Carius Curne ?
He supposedly has entered the portal, would be a great fit for our Oline.
    He won’t come cheap

An agent source told 247 that Baugh is expected to enter the portal.
