247 had a source send them a message on OL recruiting.
"They are coming."
IT mentioned this isn't about money, but competing for carries.
He'd prefer to take his chances elsewhere.
I think Zion committing meant Simpson wouldn't be in the class.
I don't know why this disappoints me. Stay and compete for a position instead of holding a team hostage for guaranteed playing time. I understand Texas went out and got experienced players, but that should make you want to compete at a higher level. Maybe that is just me.
Are they done subtracting them?
OTF says Texas is "in a good spot" right now for Oklahoma State DE Wendell Gregory.

Yale OL Mikey Bennett has committed to Oregon.
He hasn't visited yet.
IT wrote that Texas is looking at Ole Miss OL Delano Townsend.
He started at LG this season.

According to IT, Wisconsin OL Joe Brunner had a good visit to Indiana but there's been no commitment or signature.
He could very well shut down his recruitment before dead period ends late on Wednesday, but they're attempting to find out his next move.

IT said they're still monitoring CB Wardell Mack as a potential transfer.
Wow, I was hoping he would be at Texas.
I personally view the portal as a blight on college football. I've done the "grass is greener" elsewhere thing in the past with my employment with mixed results. I wonder how many of these guys will regret entering the portal and playing for a lesser team (and they're all lesser teams), or a team with a different culture. Granted, some may not have had a choice and were forced out. I think it also lessens the fan experience as we're now reduced to rooting for "rent-a-players" who rotate out every year and don't have any real allegiance to UT. From a team chemistry / culture perspective, how much turnover can the team sustain before it becomes a cancer that you can't control? If the guy I've been playing next to and formed a bond with leaves (or is forced out), how motivated am I to stick around?
