the interest of protecting private, sensitive information outweighs prosecutorial interest without a legitimate purpose

    no fishing

. The information sought herein (names, addresses, phone numbers, emails) is private and sensitive, so much so that should a private company fail to protect such information from electronic thieves, such company would most likely be sued in a data breach class action lawsuit. Thus, everyone, whether you support the President or you do not, or whether you believe the 2020 Election was fair or believe that it was not, should be concerned about the DOJ’s ability to utilize the power of the Grand Jury to appropriate your private information without a legitimate purpose.

illegal voting is fine when Republicans do it

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton appears to have used an address where he did not live while voting in six elections in the past two years — despite warning voters that “it is illegal to misrepresent your residence on election records.”

Despite his own warnings, Paxton appears to have used an address where he did not live while voting in six elections in the past two years, including in May’s runoff that made him the Republican nominee for U.S. senator, according to records obtained by ProPublica and The Texas Tribune.

State Sen. Angela Paxton said in a 2025 divorce filing that Paxton, whom she accused of adultery, moved out of their Collin County home a year earlier. But Paxton continues to list the home’s address in the northern Dallas suburb on his voter registration. Angela Paxton declined to be interviewed. A source close to the Paxtons said the attorney general has not moved back into the home since leaving.

The Election Assistance Commission, formerly an independent US agency, is now subject to presidential control after Trump v Slaughter

Trump just fired all four members, rendering it ineffective four months from midterm elections

In related news, the Federal Election Commission lacks a quorum this year because Trump refuses to appoint another commission. The FEC is powerless to fulfill its congressional mandate.

The EAC was created by Congress after the 2000 election to help states improve election administration without federalizing elections. Its role is mostly supportive: distributing federal election funds, maintaining the national mail voter registration form, testing and certifying voting systems, and offering best practices and guidance to state and local election officials.

Trump cannot simply install replacement EAC commissioners on his own. Commissioners must be nominated by the president and confirmed by the Senate, and no more than two can come from the same party.

    a very hopeful view

“It’s an open question about the EAC and the [Federal Election Commission],” said Rick Hasen, an election law professor at UCLA. “The question has not been tested as to whether political en ies created with bipartisan balance might be subject to another exception.”

    hanky-panky in a form-fitting dress

The EAC has been without a quorum before. For years, vacancies rendered the agency unable to perform major parts of its work, contributing to long delays in updating voting-system guidance. The agency regained stability only after the Senate confirmed new commissioners in 2019.

Now, with the 2026 election cycle underway, the agency is again frozen — this time not because commissioners resigned or terms expired, but because the president removed all of them at once.

DOJ 0-13 in attempts to force states to hand over private voter roll information

DOJ doing stuff without any legally sufficient basis or proper purpose is official oppression and wildly illegal

Trump fears a wipeout in the midterms, so he's going to squeal loudly about election fraud to create a pretext to try to overturn any election Republicans lose

There could be voter roll purges in red states and swing states before we're done
