Don't know about his mom. Sucks not to have him on the team next year, hopefully Charles can stay healthy and he won't be missed all that much.

UT still has plenty of depth but they're gonna miss that dude. If Taylor was reinstated I would have bet on Mack redshirting Vondrell McGee. Now, he may be able to get into the mix and show what he can do be it in the backfield or returning kickoffs.

That weapon will be missed but it means more carries for Charles.

I'm still excited to see Quan and Finley in action.

If you can't make the grade - you can't play. Simple. Hate to lose him, but I guess TxSt. is gonna have a smoking running back for one season (on and off the field).

Hmmm, it appears CBF vs Scott won't go down as planned....We'll have to formulate a new basis for our wager...

The paper said today that the team was dejected and sad when they learned that Ramonce would not be coming back. Apparently he had emerged as some sort of lockerroom leader. They said his passion for the game was intense, Selvin Young said he would be sorely missed.

Taylor to transfer from Texas, hopes for fresh start

By Ricky Treon & Ryan Killian, Daily Texan
    July 26, 2006
(CSTV U-WIRE) KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Losing Vince Young to the NFL this offseason was a huge blow to the Longhorns' potent offense.

The good news, though, was that Texas still looked forward to having three explosive backs this season, including the versatile Ramonce Taylor, who led the Longhorns in all-purpose yards during its championship run.

But that number was cut to two Tuesday as Texas released statements from the junior-to-be saying he will leave Texas before the start of next season.

"I'd like to thank the staff, coaches and my teammates for all the support and the opportunity to play for the No. 1 team in the nation," Taylor said.

Taylor did not indicate in his statements if he will transfer or where he might go, although there has been speculation that he might go to Texas College, a National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics school, in Tyler.

Taylor's decision to leave Texas seems to be a culmination of several setbacks he experienced after the Longhorns' national championship victory over Southern California at the Rose Bowl, during which Taylor scored a touchdown.

That was the high point of Taylor's stay at Texas, celebrating with his teammates on the field as the best college football team in the country.

His low points began in the classroom. Taylor had academic issues during the spring semester and was suspended from the team, rendering him unable to participate in spring drills or the Orange-White scrimmage.

The situation got worse in mid-May when Taylor was arrested and charged with possessing several pounds of marijuana in a backpack in the back of his vehicle.

Despite those struggles, Taylor remained gracious to his teammates and Mack Brown.

"I want to thank my teammates who supported me through any struggle," Taylor said. "I will be supporting all of the m as they go for back-to-back national championships. They will always have a place in my heart.

"I also need to thank coach Brown for always being honest and never changing. He always treated me as a person first and not just a football player. I'll always respect him for that."

Said Brown, "We appreciate all the R.T. contributed to our program. We wish him the very best in football and in life."

It seems that Taylor had a major fall from grace, but all of that is in the past and the former Longhorn is now looking toward the future.

"Fredrick Douglass once said, 'No struggle, no progress.' " Taylor said. "I've had my share of struggles and now it's time for progress."

Dude Ramonce Taylor doesn't even know who Fredrick Douglass was.

On the other shoe, he'll probably get about 30 touchdowns next season.

Are you implying that Ramonce did not say what he is being credited as saying?

I am shocked, shocked to find that gambling is going on in here.

For someone who constantly accuses others of "moronic" posts void of any logic... how do you explain this? It seems our little aggey-trojan is suddenly hypocritical. What a shock

he would never join the Ags, La

...well he would not be able to play RB even if he did. have to move to another position as Lewis, Lane, and Goodsen would never let him on the field.

That's too simple, no fun in that.

How about each team's rushing defense?
