This website is being heatedly discussed on Dr. Phil right now.
On this site, women can go and post pictures and horror stories about the men they have dated.
One man, Mr. Hollis, is suiing the owner of the site because he says that the accusations made about him being gay and having a sexually transmitted disease are totally false and have seriously damaged his dating opportunties. Mr. Hollis has a lot suit pending.
The female site owner, Tasha, claims that she is in no way liable for the comments made about this man. Her position is she simply provides a forum for women to vent and cannot be held responsible for opinions she did not author.
I tried looking into the site. I think it is getting more traffic than it can handle right now because of all the publicity.
Dr. Phil's show is all about is it legal, moral, and ethical for such sites to be on the internet.
I have heard of similar sites. For example there is a site for food servers to post about lousy customers.
With the increasing popularity of such sites, I am interested in what you all think about them.

I don't know what to make of this website, I just know I won't use it. Cute design, though.
The site is an intersting concept, although I don't see myself ever using it.
I am not one who wants the whole world to know when I am going through something.
I would rather talk privately to a few friends who I know care about me.

People should NEVER believe what they read posted anywhere on the internet. People have all sorts of motives for "trashing" someone and the people who post those things seem to have no clue that they can do damage to someone's reputation-- not only personally but professionally, as well. It's gossip- plain and simple- just to a wider audience and with no accountability. Once it's out there- you can't take it back and people will repeat it who have no clue that they are spreading falsity. Think about it before you repeat something you read on the internet or before you post something somewhere that you only heard through gossip and don't personally know to be factual.

Possibly, but you might be hard pressed to actually prove who wrote the content. Maybe the site owner could be held responsible for libelous material on her site? I dont know...

True, but there is always that "what if it IS true?". Nothing can destroy a relationship like doubts and su ions. Best to stay clear of such sites.
