    1. 2005 USC vs. Notre Dame
    2. 2005 USC vs. Texas
    3. 2006 Michigan vs. Ohio State

...imo, both 1 & 2 were better than 3. there was much more suspense in the games and there was the feeling for a majority of the game that they could have gone either way. this may come across as being a jackass, but if Bo had not passed away the night before (rest his soul), the game would not have been blown completely out of proportion. it was a great game, but nothing compared to 2 and not even as good as 1.

    thoughts?

Easy. #2. #1 and #3 were regular season games. #2 was a bowl game for the NC.

I'm really suprised you think that way. Really suprised indeed.

  4. #4
I think 2 was better than 3 for sure. While the score of three was close, it really wasn't - it consisted of Ohio State building a lead and Michigan coming close to it but never breaking it.

If you want the *best* college football game, I think you have to go with 1971 Thanksgiving Day: Irresistible (#2) Oklahoma Meets Immovable (#1) Nebraska

Best football game I have ever seen was the 2006 Rose Bowl.

I think the SC-ND game last year was great too (even though SC cheated ) as was this weekends OSU-Michigan game. Another one that I would put up there from recent years was the 2005 Rose Bowl with Michigan and Texas.

2005 Rose Bowl with Michigan and Texas.

That was an awesome game for sure. Texas coming back from a double digit deficit in the fourth quarter, Vince Young and Braylon Edwards playing out of their mind, Ernest Shazor making contact with the last second field goal, but it still had enough to get through the uprights. That was a great game.

    1. 2005 USC vs. Notre Dame
USC cheated the victory. Why the would anyone think this was a good game? Watching sportscenter that night talking about how your RB can't push your QB into the endzone reminded me of the early 90s when the Tide beat the Hogs doing the same thing with no flag on the play. USC got away with some bull to win.

    2. 2005 USC vs. Texas
    Easy pick right here.

    3. 2006 Michigan vs. Ohio State
Decent game. Wolverines lost and should go home and wait on the Rose Bowl invite though.

Personally, I think the Miami vs Boston College game (Flutie Bowl) was the best CFB game I've ever seen.

Until the Rose Bowl, T, I was right there with ya.

i never intended this to be the best game ever topic, though you're welcome to it. this was just suppose to keep things in light. i took the two best games of just LAST year and they were better than the Michigan v. Ohio State game.

btw, per vote, the USC v. Notre Dame was the best game of last year...so i think its relevant. and whether or not you think USC cheated, the events leading up to it were amazing.

cool, but let me make one suggestion...go back and watch that USC vs. Notre Dame game, and then tell me what you think. cause its human nature to remember the game you just saw better... . i re-watched that USC game yesterday, and it was just better on all counts. the game had its ups and downs and either side could win and when you thought it was over it wasn't. the michigan v. buckeye game wasn't that way.

or I could actually believe one is better than the other.

I have seen both more than once (Thank you, ESPN classic) and still believe the Rose Bowl was better. That doesn't mean I think USC-ND sucks but I still go with the Rose Bowl.

Then what is the problem? I was agreeing with you that the ND-USC game was the best regular season game last year.

wait, you think the ND vs. USC game last year was better than the OSU vs. Mich game this year?

...if so, never mind. it just doesn't appear to be what you were saying based on the thread responses. fyi, its not that i want you to agree with me, or anyone for that matter, its just i think people's memories are very very short.

???? UT-SC was the most hyped BCS championship of all time, then lived up to the hype, then surpassed its own hype, without a doubt the greatest CFB game of all time.

Dude do you remember the hype though? The minutes leading up to the actual game kick off were intense around the entire country...every person I talked to said they dont remember a more looked forward-to BCS championship game....especially with the heisman story in the background, the USC bid for ultimate supremacy, the talk about UT never really plays anyone, it was just hyped from every angle.

Then the actual game...the fourth down attempts, the rare leinart interception, the ULTRA rare lendale fumble, when reggie bush went for the gusto and failed, and when USC was owning UT's offense in the third cuz they realized Greg was calling the same exact play every other down?? The broken forearm resulting from the inevitable Jarrett TD? Leinart had one of the most bad ass second halfs of his career...

I jack off to that game.

yes, despite all the mistakes USC made, it was still a great game and one of the BEST ever. i don't know why i can admit that, yet some won't admit the same with the USC vs. nd game last year....all they focus on is the last play, not the events leading up to it.
