Its a smack thread. What the do you expect? Do you expect an intricate discussion on matchups and who has the most pros as opposed to the most cons on their team? Give me a ing break and plug the gaping vagina that you use to and moan so damn much.

    If.....

    But....

Should I assume Mavericks smack is synonomous with excuses? If Tim wasn't hobbling, if Tony wasn't hobbling, If you hadn't gotten some weak calls and no calls....

There are plenty of excuses to go around, so spare me the bull about how you "would have" swept.

As for this year, I dont' watch many Mavs games so I have no idea what your weaknesses are. I do know that the Spurs are tougher than an excersise bike, though, so I think we might actually have a chance against Dirk.
    I don't think you understand.

The Mavs don't need excuses about the Spurs series. We won. In your house. In game 7.

The only team that can have "excuses" is the loser.

I expect you to be able to process the information at a level at least one notch above an infantile re such that you can actually make a response that's relevant to something. Anything.

Heh, well then you're in the wrong thread dip . As of now the series is tied at 1-1 for the year so you don't have to brag about if you want to live in the present. You guys ride your January win steak with all the gusto you can muster. When they hand out the first half championship rings, make sure to schedule the ceremony on a night the Spurs are in town. That would be outstanding.

We'll try to do it on the same night that the Spurs host their now annual time machine parade.

It's not a bad thing. It's a great thing. I congratulate the Spurs organization on all their success.

The bad thing is when fans of a team that is clearly aging and on the decline, due to their sensitivity about the state of their team, are incapable of doing anything other than repeatedly pointing and saying "Look at what we have!!!" when it means jack today.

If the mavs stay healthy and the spurs keep udrih, bonner, vaughn, oberto, horry, butler, williams and finley, than the trophy belongs to the mavs. The Spurs have the tiest 5-12 in the history of the NBA.

AGING AND ON DECLINE??? ok buddy every team ages...but last time i checked none of our core players were over 30 years old
and yea look at what we have! we got one just in 2005...that is not that long ago. dude shut up and stop thinking your mavericks are so much better than the spurs. they may very well be you can't really talk unless you've done something more meaningful than the NBA finals...the Mavs are great, given, but its fans just need to be a little more humble, you really haven't won yet.

I don't think the Mavs are much better than the Spurs. I think the Mavs are on the up while the Spurs are on the down, and I think it's funny to watch you guys squirm while you try to cope with it.

When the Mavs were 0 and 4 every tree hugging asshat in this bandwagon infested forum was saying the Mavs suck and will be lucky to win 40 games this season.
And now your worried your little mermaid watching, your creamy soft serve Spurs will even make the playoffs, Does anyone know about Karma?

Uh, what the else are fans supposed to do? Are they supposed to trot out 2nd round series wins? Are they supposed to trot out Finals choke jobs? Fans don't play the games, there really isn't much else for them to do. Clearly on the decline? A team that was clearly on the decline was the one you BARELY got past last year. If you think that somehow the Mavs have made this magical jump to where they are in anything but a toss up situation then I'm going to say that you're quite delusional.

Sure, the Mavs are playing better than the Spurs in Januaray, but thats not when championships are won. For all the ing that we Spurs fans do here around this time on an annual basis, we have a saying.

    SPAM.

    Spurs peak after March.

And it holds true and true each year. So like I said earlier, feel free to celebrate your grand win streak and celebrate your lead in the division and confrence, but when it comes down to it your team hasn't proven . Championships aren't won before the all-star break so you'll have to forgive me if I miss where this team is clearly on the decline. I forgot how young that team was that kicked your ass in the Finals last year was. Timmy was once Shaqs age. Oh how I miss the day when that was the case.

damn right. spurs had to go to overtime against who last night? a struggling minnesota team? I think that the Twolves won too. With their season going, I say Suns get 2 seed. Come Friday, Spurs won't have on the Mavs.

What's more interesting to me is the way that San Antonio's lack of any team besides the Spurs causes so many of the fans to be so hilariously defensive and sensitive about their one horse.
The other side of this is that with so many teams in Dallas, you don't see too many hardcore Mavs fans, or more specifically, lifelong Mavs fans. These days there are enough people with their Mavs Fan For Life shirts (thank you Cuban) but have they really been fans their whole life or did they just hop on board last summer?

These MFFL's never stuck with the Mavs through the bad years, they just cheered for the Cowboys. Now it's the reverse. After last summer everybody seems to be a MFFL. It must be nice to have multiple teams so you can flip flop. That's something to be proud of and rub in San Antonio's face.

Now, I know all the Mavs fans on this board have been there since the days of Rolando Blackman and Mark Aguirre so I'll save you the "I've been here since blah blah blah...PWNT!!!" response.

On the down? Yeah its pretty hard to maintain championships. When your achievements are Western Conference championships then I guess you still have room to improve, but the truth is that I've been hearing for 4 or 5 years how the Mavericks are on the up and the Spurs are on the down. And in that span the Spurs have 2 les to the Mavericks 0. Woooo! Thats some downswing we're on.

I tell you what. Let me know when the Mavericks actually arive at the top. I'm quite tired of hearing how their on the up. The mother ers should have climed Mt Everest by now.

No offense, but SPAM doesn't work when you have Bonner, Udrih, Vaughn, Oberto and Elson getting minutes. I look at everyone on the Spurs besides the starting 5 and I just lmao. What a got damn nightmare.

Bonner has played better than any Spurs backup big since Rose. I don't get your hate for him. Its ridiculous. Oberto won't be getting more minutes, and Elson is no different than Nazr, so what the is the difference from teams in the past? We also have Barry and Finley coming off the bench. Its bad enough having to deal with the Mav's haters without having do deal with you too.

This team is clearly on the decline because they havent played defense this terrible in years. Not to mention the 2nd round exit last year to a team that they historically dominated. And the simple fact that the roster is chock full of some pretty damn old players who aren't getting younger.

Yeah, I'd say the Spurs are on the decline. And all your nonsense about how "the Spurs peak in March" and this and that is tired. All we heard last year was "just wait til the playoffs Mavs", even after the victory at ATT in April. Spurs fans were so damn sure that come playoffs their team would suddenly flip the switch and dominate as they traditionally had.

    Look how that turned out.

The Spurs are 4 and 4 when Bonner plays significant minutes. Nazr is a hall of famer compared to Elson. Rasho is the NBA logo compared to Elson.

    Look how that turned out.
With a hobbled Tim Duncan, who STILL dominated your ass. Tim Duncan is playing lazy and bored as this year, and he's putting up better numbers than last year. Thats something for you to be worried about. Has the defense declined? Yes but the offense has gotten better. Thats not to say that if the defense doesn't improve - and theres plenty of reason to believe it will because it always has in the past - that they won't be just as good as the Mavs. Actually, the truth is that they're just as good as the Mavs now. So if you're exstatic about the Spurs coming down and the Mavs meeting them as some sub championship level, then HOOOOOOOOOOO ing RAY for the Mavs and their fans.

Thats the exact reason that bringing up the championships is so damny funny. For Mavs fans, that 2nd round series WAS your championship. You somehow think that we "should live in the present" where you're nothing more than the equal fo the Spurs and that because the Spurs have regressed a bit and the Mavs have improved a bit that a championship is somehow sure to follow.

Once again, let me know when the Mavs actually arrive. I'm tired of hearing that they're on the up.

Anyhow, The core of this team is more than young enough. Tim/Tony/Manu will be around for years and years, and as well as our front office has done in the past, I'm very confident they'll do something worthwhile again in the future. They have huge cap flexibility to work with in a couple of years, and they have prospects that can become cheap options for them as well. If you want to talk about a team on the decline, look at your Mavericks in a couple of years. You remind me a lot of the teams that never got over the top, had a short window, and had that window close on them as quickly as it opened.

Congrats on your 2nd round championship over the Spurs. Maybe you can have a banner made of that.

I was at a game viewing party during last year's WCSF and was surrounded by loud and proud "MFFL's". At one point I made a bad joke about the Spurs planning a comeback by having Steve Kerr come out from behind the broadcast table. You know what this MFFL's response was? "Who's Steve Kerr?"
So here I was at a party, surrounded by people in MFFL shirts, telling the tale of Steve Kerr's Game 6 WCF performance. They looked so disappointed when they found out the Mavs lost.
