ATLANTA (SI.com) -- LSU junior quarterback JaMarcus Russell will announce his decision regarding the NFL draft at a Wednesday morning news conference, several outlets are reporting.
ESPN, citing no sources, reports Russell will skip his senior season and enter the NFL Draft in April.
Russell is coming off a 332-yard, two-touchdown performance in the Tigers' 41-14 victory over Notre Dame in the Sugar Bowl last week. The 6-foot-6, 252-pounder is expected to be a top-10 selection in April's draft and will battle ND's Brady Quinn to be the first quarterback taken.
Russell's mother, Zina Russell-Anderson, told the Gannett News Service that Russell will go to Baton Rouge on Monday to meet with coach Les Miles, who recently traveled to Russell's hometown of Mobile, Ala., to discuss his young QB's options.
Russell-Anderson also denied her son had already signed with an agent, but had been speaking with agents, according to Gannett. Once a college player signs with an agent, he loses his remaining collegiate eligibility.
Russell was named first-team All-SEC after throwing for 2,797 yards, 26 touchdowns and seven interceptions. His 168.10 efficiency rating ranked third in the country.
During his three-year career in Baton Rouge, the final two as a starter, Russell ac ulated 6,525 yards and 52 touchdowns.

He's got a bright future. LSU greatness in the NFL
be intersting what raiders do
lions should trade down and get 2 first round picks and a second round pick
I think the S&B need to play up like they WILL take Quinn, because the Browns want him and he says he will only play for the Browns. Then pull off a trade ala the Eli Waah-ning one and get the guy you want anyway.
