We match up so much better with the Suns, the Jazz give us fits with their matchups. Okur, Boozer, Williams, and even players like Harpring and Giricek give us problems. Plus they play great d, and can run or play half court. With the Suns, if we can slow down Nash, we win everytime. Cut off the head and the body dies.
this is true, parker against nash was an awesome thing to see...now if harris could just watch and learn anyway, i think it's better for the mavs to play teams that they may have a tougher time to grind out wins (rockets, jazz) but at least they won't fall into the run and gun offense trap (which they like to do) which could burn them

Easier said then done. I dont care how many fits they give us, I would prefer to face the Suns then the Spurs because they would be a much tougher obsticle for us. I want to face the teams who give us fits because I want to see us get through it. les arent easy to win and beating the teams who stand the best chance against you makes it sweeter in the end.

Oh you dont have to tell me, the Spurs have beaten all of our arch enemies on our le runs. This year its different though. I dont want the Spurs too have to play the Suns in probably 6 or 7 games (even though its not an option), then the Mavs in 7 games, then whoever we play in the Finals, not to mention the 1st round matchup. I think it is just to tiring, one of the reasons I thought the Mavs lost last year, they were worn out from the hard road it took them to get there, while the Heat didnt have as hard of a road. I want the best for my team, Im not going to try and bring pride into it, whatevers best for my boys, Im for that

I am amazed at your inability to realize you have tons of concerns about your team especially when you face the Mavs!
The Mavs are going to rest their starters once they clinch HCA.

This is an obvious thing teams do once their playoff seed is set, so players don't suffer needless injuries. The Spurs did this in the years they clinched the top seed. It has nothing to do with how good or bad they are.

You have to be galactically stupid to miss the point. Just really, astonishingly moronic. Other Mavericks fans should be embarrassed on your behalf.

You're right, it's the same reason Mavs fans hate on the Spurs fans, and the team to a much lesser extent. I enjoy cheering for Duncan, Ginobili and Parker at times so I know it's not like I hate the players so much, I'm an NBA fan, no point in hatin' on great players. It's great that at least three teams from the West are so good and maybe two from the East to insure a healthy crop of smacktalk. There is nothing more boring than watching one team plow through the entire league with ease and predictability...this year, anything can happen in the playoffs, particularly in the West.
I appreciate your candor ponkmeister and to be quite honest since I'm feeling so vulnerable right now: you're the one Mavs fan that I actually read.

I appreciate playful jaunting and am really happy that we can put this to an end in a few months and really have some talking with FACTS to back them up. So cheers...one of us will be feeling the pain of the upcoming "smacktalk"ing season to await.

It's hard to argue this point, but I will give it a shot In a 7 game series, the teams pretty much have each other figured out after the first 2 games. After that it's just who plays better which is usually the team with the better players. It's the reason there are so few upsets in the NBA playoffs. Yes, the Jazz might give the Spurs more problems in individual regular season games but after adjustments are made in between games I don't think they'd give the Spurs near the series that the Suns would (just from an overall talent aspect). Of course, you know your team much better than I so I would not press this argument.

That doesnt pass im sorry. If you are good enough to win, you are good enough to win. Spare me the word "tired". I refuse to use that because it is pussiness!! You are professionals who train constantly for this game and getting paid for it. Grow a sac and dont use that for an excuse for losing.

I agree we need to rest our guys but to say it could cost us come playoff time is stupid (or that it costed us against Miami). Look at the lead we have for the #1 seed jackass. If this results in a game 1 playoff loss, no big deal because we will be ready and have our motivation back.
