Congratulations on beating the Orlando Magic.
Dallas and San Antonio are overrated and the Pistons are the best thing since my girl Jessica Alba.
East>>West
Hahahaha
Well, the Magic are better than the Lakers.
Actually, congratulations on beating the Orlando Magic at home despite them outplaying you at every facet except free throws, which your team did nothing to affect. So in reality, congratulations on Orlando beating themselves with your 53 win team running around on the same court.
Thanks again for holding the trophy for us in 2004, and congratulations on being the one-year wonder of this decade. When people reminisce on the 2000's, they'll remember the Laker three-peat...the Spurs in 2003 and 2005...Shaq and Wade in 2006...and this may move them to look up the answer to the question, "So who the won it in 2004? Why can't I remember that team?", which, after research reveals the answer, will incite the further comment, "Chauncey Billups won an NBA Finals MVP? Who's he?"
.
OWNAGE!!!!
Piston's were coasting in that game against Orlando.
Sounds like your just pissed that your team lost game 1. Its just one game so who cares. You mean which team tanked a season just to get Tim Duncan? Which team won a fake championship where they only played 1/2 a season? I could go on but I'd only be matching your above stupidity.
Guess all of Detroit is Eight mile trailer park re s with this statement
What's a 53-win team doing coasting? When your team is unable to dominate, then that team needs to play up as much as possible. Sure we lost game one - that'll happen after you clinch a seed and have nothing to play for after about a weeks' time. You were busy in the final week holding off Chicago, the only team with less one-on-one scoring threats than Detroit, and the Cleveland LeBrons. I understand why your team is in a better rhythm than ours right now.
You wanna talk about tanking? First of all, you can say a lot of things about the Spurs that are true: model franchise, winningest team in pro sports for 10 years running, a team of class and character that doesn't get into Palace-clearing brawls - but you can't say we tanked that year. If we did, we'd have to be completely ing stupid, since we had the third worst record that year, not the worst. It's not a proper tank if you don't lose more than anybody else (Boston).
Let's assume you're right though - and a fool-headed assumption that is. If 20-62 is tanking, what is this:
1978 38-44
1979 30-52
1980 16-66
That, my friend, is worse than tanking. It's sucking. And to prove just how sucky this was, consider the beautiful drafts you got out of these "1990's Mavericks"-quality seasons:
1978 - No pick (Nice! Way to cash in a horrible year)
1979 - Greg Kelser, Roy Hamilton, Phil Hubbard (Hey, you got Magic's college teammate)
1980 - Larry Drew (decent player, for a cokehead)
All of this took place during the Vitale era. Nice hire!
Don't think I cherry picked these years. The history of your stupid franchise is run through with failure and mediocrity, with a seeming committment to stay there. You were the Clippers long before the Clippers were the Clippers.
When the Spurs lose, we get the out of that basement as fast as possible.
Nice 1/2 championship reference, by the way. Interesting, too, since as we all know, most of the top players across the league boycotted that season, giving the Spurs a free ride to the championship...wait...what's that? They all played? Shaq? Kobe? Malone? Pippen? Barkley? Iverson? They all took part? Why, I guess 1999 was a legitimate championship, after all!
Was 1999 the year Grant Hill put on his foot backwards for you guys?
Yeah, no...
The Lakers have 2 more wins in a much tougher conference. And they have Kobe Bryant. The Pistons are lucky to be playing the weakest team in the playoffs (disregarding the Wizards, who would have been a force if they weren't missing their two stars).
