For those unaware, should the Mavs lose this first round series, they will set a new NBA record for the team with the most regular season wins that got eliminated in round 1 of the playoffs.

The Mavs would also be the first #1 seed to lose in the first round since they went to the best-of-seven format.
the last time the two finalists lost in first round was late 1940s.
If their series is over by game 5, then it'll be the first time the NBA will award an MVP TROPHY to a player who's no longer in the playoffs.
