Panthers cut Keyshawn
Keyshawn Johnson was released by the Carolina Panthers Tuesday, leaving one of the NFL's most productive receivers looking for a third team in as many years.
""They said they wanted to get younger,'' Johnson said. ""That's fine with me. I'd like to go somewhere and help someone win another Super Bowl.''
Johnson, 34, spent the weekend working for ESPN in New York during their NFL draft coverage and will undoubtedly receive offers to work in broadcasting. But his first choice is to play another season or two.
The move was somewhat surprising since the Panthers paid Johnson a $3-million roster bonus April 1. Carolina drafted Southern Cal receiver Dwayne Jarrett and also have Keary Colbert.
Last season, Johnson caught 70 passes for 815 yards and four touchdowns, two of them against Tampa Bay.
Johnson even joked that he would consider returning to the Bucs.
""Me and Jon Gruden together again. You never know,'' he said laughing. ""Billy Martin and George Steinbrenner did it.''

And after he got so excited about the prospect of tudoring the young crop. Doesn't really add up.
San Diego, San Francisco, Denver or Green Bay would be very smart to look into him.
They didn't draft a WR in the 1st round. They selected Jarrett in the 2nd round.
yea im remember him saying he was happy man does that suck for him
That sucks for Keyshawn, especially since he sounded really happy about them drafting Jarret and he kept talking about taking him under his wing and teaching him everything he knows.
Oh, well. I'm sure another team will pick him up.
Meh, Keyshawn's has had an interested career: overrated, underrated, overrated, and now well...I'm actually gonna say slightly undderrated. He ain't washed up, even if he looked it in the Cowboys/Panthers game last year, but he ain't worth second WR money either.
I think he still has a year or two left on him, and if he plays he'll probably end up in a situation where there's a young gunslinging quarterbook he can play safety blanket for. He's no longer the 'missing piece' for any team.
Although, the thought of him in Green Bay makes me laugh inside. God, that would just be the capper to the last craptacular years that Favre has had to endure.
He mentioned several occasions wanting to retire in Dallas.
