He had bad knees and was never in shape to play in the Suns uptempo offense.

Both are the basic reasons he was cut by the Knicks.

The Suns offered him a trade or release shortly after signing him but Rose declined and said he would accept his role on the bench.

Thats what I was thinking too... The only thing I'm guessing is that maybe he thought he didn't need anymore scorers in the rotation. Your guess is as good as mine on that one...
