Given the fact that Kobe is such a head case i would say No deal.

But if i am a bidness man and i know there is a "fire sale" i.e. Kobe wants out of L.A., if I'm Cuban i would offer the Lakers Jett Terry and Josh Howard for Kobe.

    Lineup:

    Harris PG
    Kobe SG
    Stackhous SF
    Dirk PF
    Damp/Diop C

    Not to shabby!

You'd need to give them more than just Dirk, better throw Howard in that deal as well as maybe a pick. Dirk's stock is in the toilet these days.

Kobe. If he is on Dallas, I will stop rooting for them.

No way would we need to give up that much. Dirk alone would probably be the best offer they would get. When everyone in the league knows that you are trying to get rid of a player then no one is going to pay top price. Just like Miami getting Shaq for Lamar Odom and Brian Grant.

Kobe-Howard, could they become the new Jordan-Pippen combo ? Interesting.

Wouldn't Dallas have to give up more than just Dirk for Kobe? Why would LA trade away a superstar for a 7 foot wingman with no sack.

Dallas wouldn't have to give up more if LA's the one got cornered & have to take lesser value just to GET some value out of Kobe. Don't you think so ?

LA won't give up Kobe for lesser value. Kobe's ing now, but he'll shut up and play if no deal is made and the Lakers know that. They aren't giving him up unless they get a superstar that will sell the monstrously expensive tickets in LA, and Dirk by himself won't be enough. No deal here - the Mavs would have to at least part with Dirk and Howard, which would make the Mavs only slightly better than the Lakers are now.

That certainly is not the case with Vince Carter & the Raptors break up saga, isn't it ? I mean, keeping an unhappy franchise player is just not worth all the trouble & drama in my book.

Nowitzki might be deprived of balls for the post season, but he has actually won something that Kobe haven't recently -and i'm not talking 3pt shot champ award either.
