Sixers-Bucks
Which game is everyone looking forward to the most?
Phoenix and Dallas are old news...The game I'm most anticipating is February 10. Boston. Maybe KG and Allen and Pierce can make the NBA a compe ive league again and become the league's second superpower. I haven't forgotten about Miami at full strength, and Detroit has declined. But the Spurs will remain the West's lone superpower until someone else does something about that. Dallas' chance has passed them by, as has Phoenix's.
I just don't see any team in the West giving the Spurs any problems this year. Too many fake teams out there that pretend to be good (Dallas, Phoenix, Houston) then end up sucking ass.
As are your posts. You're slipping...(Insert team here) is fake...Spurs will cruise easily to a repeat...You used to be so good at bringing the crazy and the funny, but now you're just boring.Phoenix and Dallas are old news..
We expect more out of you SD.
I think the Suns's time has passed but I still can't count Dallas out yet. Everyone knows they had matchup problems with GS and they also had Don Nelson on their side. The Mavs don't need to make any changes. Even if they meet the Warriors again I doubt they will lose since they just traded away J-Rich which contributed a lot last year. I can definitely see the series back from 06 happening again if we meet, although I do think we'll win there's a very good chance of 06 happening again. I can't talk about Houston because no one knows how they will be with all these pieces to their team. Detroit I think only has one more chance left in them. Miami and Cleveland are done.
My job was not to bring the crazy and the funny, but to defeat these delusional views that this board had during the season. Now that the season is done and all of my viewpoints played out (Dallas lost in playoffs, Suns lost in playoffs, Rockets lost in playoffs, Dwight Howard and LeBron are overrated, Golden State is better than Dallas, Spurs finish at the top), there is no correction in delusional thinking to be made here. The playoff results don't lie and neither did I.
Greg Oden will get kicked out of the NBA on opening night.
I just want the damn season to start already.
I really miss it this year, I'm not sure why. But it seems like forever since we won and forever before the season tips.
Magic-Raptors
Denver-LAC
Any Nets preseason game
Why the are you still allowed to start threads?
Yes, it is.My job was not to bring the crazy and the funny,
Dwight Howard and LeBron aren't overrated. Houston, Phoenix and Dallas are all going to be formidable challenges to San Antonio next year. Nobody among the Spurs fanbase was arguing the Spurs were definitely going to lose in the playoffs to those teams, so you didn't prove .Now that the season is done and all of my viewpoints played out (Dallas lost in playoffs, Suns lost in playoffs, Rockets lost in playoffs, Dwight Howard and LeBron are overrated, Golden State is better than Dallas, Spurs finish at the top), there is no correction in delusional thinking to be made here. The playoff results don't lie and neither did I.
Ah, this is more like it. Oden is going to be a force in this league for a long time to come. So he's gonna get schooled by Timmy in his debut. BFD.Greg Oden will get kicked out of the NBA on opening night.
How are the Suns done? Explain that one. Nash isnt done yet. To say that Dallas is in better position than the Suns is comedy. if anything I expect the Suns to be motivated with a chip on their shoulder. That team has heart and a never quit at ude. It is hard to say the same about Dallas who just bent over and took it right up the asshole in game 6 vs Golden State.
JRich was nice for that team but he wasnt the main poison for dallas. It was B-Diddy and Jax. Now that they have Wright this still forces Irk to guard someone which is bad news for the Mavs. GS still have the guys to shut Irk down in Jax/Barnes. The Mavs biggest need was a player who can score in the paint and they didnt fill that need. Teams who live and die by the jumper NEVER win les. I dont get how all of a sudden it is a possibility.
Dallas isn't the only team to ever quit in the postseason. Spurs did it against the Lakers. So your point is what exactly?
Jason Richardson for Brandon Wright means the Warriors took a major step back. Their owner is a tightwad and didn't capitalize on the momentum of the playoff run. GS isn't a threat to anybody next year.
Dallas is better defensively than Phoenix. I don't get how teams that don't play defense are threats to win les. Dallas has a serious achilles heel with an undersized backcourt and no back to the basket scorers, but they've come a of a lot closer than the Suns and they can actually D it up. Phoenix has a tightwad owner selling off draft picks rather than addressing their biggest weakness (no bench). Nash is the only guy on that team that has what it takes mentally. They took a major step backward selling off their draft picks and exchanging Kurt Thomas and James Jones for Grant Hill and his antler ankles. Dallas is better than Phoenix period. To say that Dallas is in better position than the Suns is comedy.
Your anti-Mavs bias is because you know they're the only team in the League capable of beating the Spurs and they scare you. On paper I'd say Houston has a shot now too, but unlike the Rockets, Dallas has actually gone out and done it.

I don't really look forward to any regular season game over another but I am praying the Spurs get to go against the Suns again in this years playoffs with both teams at full strength for all 7 games. A WCF against Dallas would be great too.
Spurs and Heat in the finals, or a Duncan and KG showdown in the finals would be icing on the cake.
We got to see them win a le, 4 in fact, now let's see them pushed to the absolute maximum imo.
That was against a championship team and most dominant playoff team ever in NBA playoff history. The Mavs was against a non-elite team.
Your the last person who should be dogging teams moves. You still havent addressed your post game issues. Reminder...teams who live and die by the jumper (like the Mavs) DONT win les. That has been a proven fact throughout NBA history.
The Golden State team Dallas faced was a 50-win team after the trade and having everybody healthy. Quitting is quitting, I thought Spurs fans were above making excuses? I guess not. Now that J-Rich is gone in exchange for a rookie, the Warriors are back to being not so hot. That was against a championship team and most dominant playoff team ever in NBA playoff history. The Mavs was against a non-elite team.
As an observer and fan of the league, I can comment on whatever I please. Direct your criticism to Donnie Nelson. I'm just glad this team didn't panic and overreact to the Warrior series. I'm sure you'd love to see this team broken up and dismantled. The Mavs' FO isn't stupid enough to go into that briar patch. Considering the weak FA class and our cap situation improves next year, this wasn't the offseason to make a major move. Mavs did the right thing staying pat considering a slam-dunk move wasn't available.Your the last person who should be dogging teams moves. You still havent addressed your post game issues. Mavs cant play D worth a when they face the Suns. The Mavs scare me?

A team who choked in the finals and got their asses kicked in the first round dont really scare me. They finally had their big run to the finals in 06 and they couldnt get the job done. Being unable to stop Wade while true isnt why you lost that series. You blew a 13 point lead midway through the 4th quarter of that game and never recovered. You choked when you had every opportunity to have that 1 and done special season and couldnt take advantage of it. Miami then took advantage of the Mavs lack of a post game and Wade took over. The Mavs pre finals 2006 I will admit were determined but this current team is becoming a shadow of that crew. You really need to get over that fluke of a season because things have only gone downhill since.
Every post from you is Mavs-obsession. If they didn't concern you, then you'd never mention them, like the Grizzlies, Bucks or Hornets. The Mavs scare me?
Being unable to stop Wade is why we lost the series. It's really that simple.Being unable to stop Wade while true isnt why you lost that series.
Are you talking about the Mavs or the 1994 Sonics? Yeah, things are really in the toilet. That's why we only won 22 games last year and finished in the lottery. Oh wait...Dirk is 29, Josh is 26, Devin is 25, Diop is 23, Jet is 30. We're going to be around for a while. You really need to get over that fluke of a season because things have only gone downhill since.

13 point lead with 6 1/2 minutes left in game 3. Choking plays a factor as well.

Fixed. Guess we will have to once again agree to disagree.

Tell me more, Nostradamus. Since you can tell the future, can you get in touch with my stockbroker?
Any team can come out motivated as but it doesn't do any good if you don't play the game the right way (defense). For example, Cleveland came out pumped up, motivated, ready in the Finals. That doesn't mean they played the game the right way. They still lost. Having a good at ude isn't enough to win. Talent has to be there, mostly defensively.
Go back to threads in January and February, 99% of you picked Phoenix or Dallas to win the championship.
That's not true.
They are young, yes. They will be around for a while. They are athletic. Still, that doesn't mean they play the game the right way in the playoffs. Why there was no Dirk for Garnett trade is beyond me. As someone else said, they will be around for a while, but will also lose for all that while.
Because that doesn't necessarily solve their problems. Why there was no Dirk for Garnett trade is beyond me.
Get in touch with my mutual fund manager, Kreskin. As someone else said, they will be around for a while, but will also lose for all that while.
You're assuming it would take us 7 games to beat the Suns.
It wouldn't, and it won't while Timmy reigns in S.A.
what about the first
